Ice Hockey Showdown: Greater Bay Championships Comes to Hong Kong This May
Inetasia is presenting the Greater Bay Championship, which is set to run for a second edition between May. 25 and 27, 2023. This year’s tournament will take place at the Discover Bay Ice Rink in Hong Kong.
Organised by Powerplay Sports & Entertainment and with the support of the Greater Bay Ice Hockey Association and China Hockey Group, Ice hockey teams will skate through the rinks to perform a top-notch competition and showcase their skills and sportsmanship.
Ice Hockey Teams from all over the region, such as our city's very own HK Tigers, as well as teams flocking from Australia, Singapore, and the Philippines, plus many more are heading over to compete for the championship title. The spotlight of this year’s competition would be the face-off between HK Tigers and Yokohama Grits in the Super Series Division.
The HK Tigers, known for their top players in Hong Kong, will be competing against the professional hockey team from Japan, the Yokohama Grits. The Tigers held a slight edge in 2019 when the two teams first met, but this year’s game is expected to be on another level as both teams vie for victory. The Tigers will be looking to defend their title, while the Grits will be hungry for a win.
Stay tuned from May. 5 to see the full schedule via Powerplay Sports & Entertainment’s official Instagram and the Greater Bay Championship website. So, mark your calendars and expect some awesome hockey games with free admission!
