Prepare to sit back, relax, and laugh out loud as the first Macau International Comedy Festival launches next month! Slated to kick off from March 11 to 18, the event brings comedic theatrical plays, award-winning comedy movies, and interesting talks with comedy experts from all over the world to Macau.

Divided into three parts, the event will offer the guests a unique experience in the comedy scene. Guests can immerse themselves in a selection of plays and films in the first part of the festival. Witness outstanding theatrical shows like “Crazy Barbershop,” “Strange Tales from Liao Zhai,” and the award-winning romantic comedy “A Comedy of Operas.” Audiences can also enjoy screenings of films like “Rice Drama Attacking the Heart” and “The Practical Man.”

Meanwhile, guests can catch the “Joy Awards,” a ceremony celebrating comedians and their contributions to the industry in the second portion.

Aiming to support new comedy talents, the third part will help provide insights into the art of comedy creation through industry forums, film masterclasses, and discussions with expert directors, screenwriters, actors, and experts from Macau, mainland China, and more.
