Mandarin Oriental Hotel to Make Its Return to Makati in 2026
Following its closure in 2014, an all-new Mandarin Oriental Hotel is slated to rise in the Philippines’ commercial heart, Makati City, in 2026.
To be located in Ayala Triangle Gardens at the corner of Paseo de Roxas and Makati Avenue, the 276-room hotel will be home to a wide range of luxurious amenities, high-end restaurants, and the brand’s signature spa.
Last April 22, officials from property developer Ayala Land and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group (MOHG) visited the site for the soon-to-open Mandarin Oriental Makati, announcing its opening to key stakeholders.
“We’re excited to welcome Mandarin Oriental back to the Philippines, and to Makati City specifically. More than just a physical landmark, the brand was also a cultural landmark, with the hotel hosting celebrations and special events,” said Ayala Lang Senior Vice President Mariana Zobel de Ayala in a press statement.
Meanwhile, Christoph Mares, chief operating officer of MOHG, expressed excitement over the brand’s return to the Philippines, stating, “We’re optimistic about the future prospects of the Philippines, and are happy to be returning to the country now.”
Mandarin Oriental first graced Makati in 1976 and faced closure in September 2014. It was set to reopen in 2020 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
