Family-friendly Exhibits in Singapore to Visit Until July-October 2022

Whether it’s educational and thought-provoking or purely for fun, visiting an exhibit is one of the most exciting ways to spend time with the entire family. The problem is, some of us are too busy that we can’t seem to agree on a schedule. We understand that it’s difficult to take the day off or put off some chores, but don’t worry! You still have time to prepare and block specific dates in your calendar. Below, we’ve listed some family-friendly exhibits in Singapore you can start visiting today until the end of July to October.

Weird But True!

Let National Geographic’s new exhibition bring your kids to the fascinating worlds of the plant and animal kingdom! Here they can discover incredible fun facts about conservation, sustainability, and the principles of biodiversity through colourful graphics and visually stunning photos. This exhibit is ideal for pre-school, primary, and secondary students wanting to learn more about our ecosystem.

When: Feb. 22 to July 31 (9 AM to 9 PM)

Admission: All visitors are required to pre-book their visit date and time. Visitors must be fully vaccinated and must present proof of vaccination.

Hydrangea Holidays

In partnership with the Netherlands Embassy and JOURNEY by TOUCH Community Services, this will be the first-ever hydrangea floral display in Singapore. The exhibit will showcase more than 20 varieties of hydrangeas and a traditional landscape with canals, windmills, townhouses, and a lighthouse, which is inspired by the West Schouwen Lighthouse, the largest and tallest lighthouse in the Netherlands. The paintings of artists with special needs from TOUCH Centre for Independent Living will also be displayed.

Admission: Pre-booking isn’t required, but purchasing a ticket beforehand is advisable.

We Live in an Ocean of Air

Let this multi-sensory installation by London-based immersive art collective Marshmallow Laser Feast bring you virtual reality like you’ve never seen before. This exhibit unveils “the invisible yet symbiotic connections that bind the animal, plant, human and natural worlds into one enchanting tapestry of wonder.” It shows the challenges the Earth is facing in the 21st century and allows us to reflect on our (humanity) responsibility to the organisms we share the planet with.

When: May 28 to Oct. 2 (10 AM to 7 PM)

Admission: Enhanced COVID-19 measures like timed entry are in place at ArtScience so visitors are advised to pre-purchase tickets prior to visiting.

OFF / ON: Everyday Technology that Changed our Lives, 1970s – 2000s

Reminisce the good old days and have a nostalgic conversation with your kids as you show and let them interact with the technologies you once used. From old-school shops to an office setting, there are four zones you can explore: Work in Progress, Hello Mobile, The Art of Living, and Game On. There’s also an exclusive in-gallery escape room game you can book to end your visit in a thrilling way.

When: June 10 to Oct. 30 (10 AM to 7 PM)

Admission: Free admission for Singaporeans and permanent residents. Simply present your National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) card upon entry.
