Make S’pore Greener by Joining NParks' Tree Planting Initiative on Jan. 13
The National Parks Board, also known as NParks, is launching a new initiative that aims to make the city-state greener.
Called “OneMillionTrees: Tree Planting & Habitat Enhancement,” the initiative is hosting restoration activities on Jan. 13 at the tranquil Lim Chu Kang Nature Park, one of Singapore’s tranquil and lush greeneries located inside the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve.
The program is targeted at enhancing the coastal and grassland habitats in the area with a tree-planting activity. It will also include removing invasive species to restore the native habitats in the park, allowing it to become a fresh home for the area’s wildlife.
The “OneMillionTrees: Tree Planting & Habitat Enhancement” is part of NParks’ “OneMillionTrees” movement, which aims to restore Singapore’s greenery by planting over a million trees over the next 10 years. As of this writing, the organisation already has about 627,336 total trees planted.
