These 8 Restaurants Are the Newest Additions to Michelin Guide KL & Penang
Eight new food spots have just been added to the Michelin Guide’s selection in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, all of which, according to the recognition body, are “too good to keep a secret.”
The three diners in Kuala Lumpur that made it to the list are Hor Poh Cuisine, which serves authentic Hakkanese food and its signature Hor Poh Lui Cha soup; Jalan Ipoh Claypot Chicken Rice stall; and North Indian resto Roti by d'Tandoor.
Meanwhile, Penang boasts five new stalls on the list: the family-run restaurants Ah Boy Koay Teow Th'ng and My Own Café; noodle shop Ghee Lian; George Town-favourite Hot Bowl White Curry Mee; and street food stall Siam Road Char Koay Teow.
The eight new food spots are the first batch the Michelin Guide revealed for its Kuala Lumpur and Penang selection. A second batch of restos will be unveiled soon ahead of its next annual distinction ceremony for its Stars, Green Stars, and Bib Gourmands recommendations.
Curious? You can check out more information about these food spots through the Michelin Guide’s website and mobile app, or better yet, visit the stalls now! Expect long lines, but the wait will surely be worth it.
