24 Teams to Compete at PUBG Global Series 1 Slated for April-May

Winner winner, chicken dinner! Malaysian gamers are about to enter a real battle royale.
After a two-year hiatus, game developer Krafton has announced that the PUBG Global Series 1 (PGS 1) “Land: Of The New Era” will be held in Kuala Lumpur. It will kick off tomorrow (6 PM MYT) and will run until May 7 at Battle Arena Malaysia.
The global tournament will be attended by 24 teams, which comprise the top 16 teams from the regional series and eight from Global Partner teams. There will be three teams representing the United States, six from APAC, five from Asia, and two from Europe.
The squads will begin their battle journey in a Group Stage where they will be divided into three groups (A, B, and C). They will play against one another, hence the Group Stage will consist of six matches: A versus B, B versus C, and C versus A.
At the end of this stage, a total of 16 teams will be placed in the Winners Bracket, while the remaining eight teams will be positioned in the Losers Bracket. To view the complete list of participating teams and group stage announcements, go here.
In terms of the ruleset, the PGS 1 tournament will employ v3.0.5 before moving on to synchronisation with the ranked mode. It “will take place on patch #22.2, featuring two classic maps, Erangel and Miramar, along with the addition of two new weapons, the MK12 and ACE32, to the weapon spawn table,” the announcement read.
The PGS is widely recognised as one of the biggest PUBG esports events for the year, alongside the PUBG Nations Cup and the PUBG Global Championship. For more information, visit PUBG Esports.
