Get Egg-cited! Korean Sandwich Shop EGGDROP to Launch in the Philippines

No need to fly to Korea to taste its beloved egg drop sandwiches, as the South Korean premium sandwich chain EGGDROP has announced its debut in the Philippines!

The announcement was made through a press release by its parent company, Golden Hind, unveiling that the brand’s second global store will be in the Philippines. This follows the successful launch of the brand’s first overseas store in Bangkok in December last year.

According to the release, EGGDROP will launch two shops in the Philippines in the first half of 2024, followed by three more stores by the second half. The statement also mentioned that the openings are aimed at providing Filipinos with a “new gastronomic experience that is both delicious and healthy.”

EGGDROP’s entry into the Philippine market also follows the opening of its 298th store in South Korea last month and franchise inquiries from over 30 countries, including the United States, Japan, Hong Kong, India, and Taiwan.

“We are very excited to announce EGGDROP's second international expansion. We look forward to providing a fun experience for consumers in the Philippines,” said Young-woo Noh, CEO of Golden Hind, in the statement.

First launched in South Korea in 2017, EGGDROP has since seen success because of its healthy, delicious "egg food" concept and its aesthetic product design and packaging. It is also popular for its sumptuous signature offerings, such as the Ham & Cheese K-Street Toast, the Mr. Egg sandwich, and the Teriyaki BBQ sandwich, among others.
