Can’t Book a Ride? GrabShare Is Back in Specific Areas in Manila
Great news, Manila commuters! Grab Philippines said on Monday, Jan. 9, that it’s bringing back its carpooling service and multi-stop feature to serve more passengers and work out its driver shortage.
Commuters having the same routes can now share rides with other Grab passengers and save more on their booking.
As of writing, GrabShare is in beta mode. Passengers may only book during peak hours at crowded areas with high demand, such as Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Makati, and Ortigas. As for the multi-stop feature, passengers are allowed to have two drop-offs from the same pick-up point in a single booking.
Grab announced the regional launch of its first on-demand commercial carpooling service in 2017 to meet passenger demand and help reduce the number of cars on the road, but it ceased operations when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country.
