'The Notebook: The Musical' to Make Philippine Debut in September 2026

Ready for Noah and Allie’s love story to pull your heartstrings once more?

Theatre Group Asia (TGA) is set to stage “The Notebook: The Musical” in Manila for the first time this September, opening its 2026-2027 season at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater.

Based on Nicholas Sparks’ 1996 novel, and is renowned for the 2004 film adaptation starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, the production traces the enduring love story of Noah and Allie, moving between the present-day care facility and the American South in the 1940s.

The musical first premiered in 2022 at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater before making its 2024 Broadway debut in 2024. It features music and lyrics by Ingrid Michaelson, with a book by Bekah Brunstetter.

Filipino singer-songwriter Morissette has been cast as Middle Allie in the upcoming production, while Filipino theater darlings Sheena Belarmino and Benedix Ramos are set to portray Young Allie and Young Noah, respectively.

Otaku Pop Fes is taking over Okada Manila this Apr. 25 and 26, 2026 for a large-scale celebration of Japanese anime, manga, music, and pop culture.

Unfolding across Okada Manila’s Glass Ballroom and Cove Manila, fans can expect a varied selection of anime and manga exhibition booths, curated displays, immersive showcases, and so much more!

This year’s featured IP booths include renowned and emerging titles in the anime and manga scene, such as “Dan Da Dan,” “Witchwatch,” “Tokyo Revengers,” “Tougen Anki,” “Naruto,” “Shadowverse,” “Umamusume: Pretty Derby,” “Sakamoto Days,” “Spy x Family,” “The Apothecary Diaries,” and “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.”

“The Symphonic World of Studio Ghibli” is set to take the stage at The Theatre at Solaire from July 31 to Aug. 2, 2026, bringing audiences to a world of wonder, nostalgia, and adventure with a live orchestral setting.

Presented by Film Concerts PH in partnership with The Japan Foundation Manila, the production forms a part of the Philippines-Japan Friendship Year 2026, marking 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Performed by the 83-piece Filharmonika Orchestra under the baton of Gerard Salonga, the program features the unforgettable music of acclaimed composer Joe Hisaishi, whose scores have defined the soundtracks of films such as “Howl’s Moving Castle,” “Spirited Away,” “My Neighbor Totoro,” and “Kiki’s Delivery Service.”

Spanning approximately two hours, the concert offers a purely orchestral experience, with some segments incorporating special narration. Performances are scheduled across four shows: July 31 at 8 PM, Aug. 1 at 2 PM and 7 PM, and Aug. 2 at 2 PM. Guests are also welcome to come in themed attire inspired by the films, adding to the nostalgia and whimsical atmosphere of the show.

2026 ROUND FESTIVAL

ROUND Festival Manila 2026 is scheduled for April 18-19 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The festival showcases popular music from South Korea and ASEAN, positioning itself as a platform for cultural exchange through live performance. Originally held in Busan, South Korea, and other ASEAN cities, ROUND continues its regional circuit with Manila as its next destination. The announced lineup includes all‑Filipino boy band HORI7ON and Korean indie act 10cm.

Stardew Valley Festival of Seasons Concert

Stardew Valley: Festival of Seasons comes to Manila on April 25 at The Theatre at Solaire, presented by Film Concerts PH in partnership with SOHO Live. 2025-26 Treasure Tour 'Pulse On' in Manila

The "Pulse On" Tour brings K-pop group TREASURE back to the local stage on April 18 at SM Mall of Asia Arena. The tour supports their extended play “Love Pulse,” led by the single “Paradise.” TREASURE is a 10-member boy group under YG Entertainment. Since debuting in 2020, the group has evolved from a hip-hop–oriented sound to a broader pop style across multiple releases. Sake Manila Returns This May 2026 for a Night of Japan’s Finest Pours

Japanese liquor is having its moment.

Sake Manila 2026 is set to take over the Grand Ballroom at Okada Manila on May 22, 2026, bringing back one of the city’s most anticipated nights for drinks, discovery, and everything in between.

Happening from 5 PM to 12 AM, the space transforms into a full-scale tasting floor, with over 200 sakes from 50-plus Japanese breweries on pour. Beyond sake, the Japanese liquor lineup stretches across whiskey, gin, shochu, liqueurs, beer, wine, and amazake — all paired with Japanese bites and a live entertainment program to keep the spirits high and pouring.

Part tasting, part party, the night leans into a more social, free-flowing format — designed for moving in-between pours, discovering new favorites, and staying a little longer than planned.

A featured challenge includes the chance to run with Piolo Pascual and achieve a “Sub‑Piolo” time, defined as completing the 10K in 47 minutes.
