Mental Abacus Course

The New Generation Abacus and Mental Arithmetic course focuses on learning mathematics through mental abacus to improve their arithmetic skills, to calculate accurately and quickly, and improve their overall comprehension in mathematics.

The mental abacus programme consists of eight sessions. Classes will start on Oct. 15 and will run until Dec. 17 from 9:30 AM-11 AM. Children aged four to -14 years old are welcome to join in the fun. As of writing, this class is currently at full capacity but you can register for the waiting list if you’re still interested.

Arts, Crafts, and Lifestyle Courses Showcase

For lifestyle and leisure activities, the One Punggol Coast Community and Children’s Day Celebration will also introducearts and crafts through Glue Cream Art (food art) and Fun with Art courses. One Punggol Coast Community believes that art makes a wonderful and educational hobby for kids to develop their creative potential and artistic abilities.

In the Fun with Art course, students will learn different painting skills featuring animals, flowers, landscapes, and more. On the other hand, the Glue Cream Art course will use eco-friendly and non-toxic materials for kids’ safety. This course will help children stimulate their own creativity through cake layers, decorative toppers, and more.

These courses are suitable for children aged five to -12 years old. All sessions will be held at the One Punggol Hub - Seminar Room 2.

Digital Engagement

Who says programming is for adults only? One Punggol Coast Community will be offering free coding and robotics classes as part of the Children's Day Celebration.

Kids will be introduced to programming through Lego Robotics during the trial classes, where they will learn the fundamentals of C programming, variables, graphical blocks, simple calculations for robot performance, basic math principles, and more.

This one-time session seeks to pique children's interests and motivate them to gain a deeper understanding of mathematics and the ways in which it can be applied in the real world to address issues in everyday life. Classes start at 9:30 AM- 10:30 AM.

Other Free Courses/Programmes for Kids and Adults

There are more free activities that Punggol Coast Community has organised for the Children's Day Celebration. Kids who have an interest in reading will be encouraged to develop their passion by joining the reading club.

For members who love to dance regularly, the Punggol Coast Community also created a social dance group, while the Fabulous Workout Group is an activity that will keep each member fit, trim and healthy through an exercise routine arranged by the Health Promotion Board.

Those who are interested in playing woodball can get together with other fans of the sport to enjoy a game or two.
