5 Crazy-Fun Things to See at Beyoncé-Approved Museum of Ice Cream Singapore

Imagine a crossover between Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory and Santa Claus’ North Pole abode. What do you get? A pastel-coloured candy land where every corner makes for a perfect Instagram backdrop.
That’s the Museum of Ice Cream, a multisensory exhibit that has attracted A-list celebrities such as Beyoncé, Ryan Reynolds, and Katy Perry. From its flagship locations in the U.S., this viral attraction has finally opened its doors in Singapore to mark its first-ever international launch.

Unveiled on Aug. 19, 2021, the Museum of Ice Cream in Singapore spans 60,000 square feet and is nestled in the neighbourhood of Dempsey, replacing lines of old barracks with a façade in different shades of pink. Visitors can revel in 14 multisensory installations and sweet treats throughout their stay. Yes, that includes unlimited scoops of ice cream, some of which bear familiar flavours, others with a local twist.
If you’re planning to visit the Museum of Ice Cream Singapore, here are five things to look forward to!
The Sprinkle Pool
Move over ball pits. The Museum of Ice Cream Singapore’s famous Sprinkle Pool is filled with oblong-shaped plastic tubes in candy colors where you can dive deep or pose for a snap. There are also diving boards and slides that go straight into the pool.
The Banana Split Forest
First seen in Los Angeles, the Banana Split Forest is an eye-popping tunnel lined with 10,000 colourful bananas. The faux fruits are all squishy and you can touch them for a complete sensory experience. Don’t forget to take a photo with the bananas to immortalize the peel-ing (yes, we tried).
The Scream’s Diner
Take a scoop of some retro vibes at The Scream’s Diner, a ‘90s-inspired dine-in place complete with a jukebox and old-school payphones. It also comes with white-and-pink checkered floors and bar seats, plus a working ice cream machine to boot.
The Dragon Playground
The Museum of Ice Cream Singapore is also banking on nostalgia with The Dragon Playground, which is inspired by the city-state’s iconic playground in 1970s (you can still find the original in Toa Payoh). Don’t forget to climb up the slinky-like unicorn spine and slide down to its head.
The Unlimited Ice Cream
What’s better than ice cream? Unlimited scoops of ice cream! Once you buy a ticket (starts at S$38), you are entitled to unlimited ice cream servings throughout your stay. Ice cream stops are dotted across the entire museum so it’s hard to miss one. The Museum of Ice Cream Singapore changes its roster of flavours every three months.
As of this writing, the museum is operating at 25% capacity. Visitors need to be fully vaccinated or present a valid negative COVID-19 pre-event test result taken 24 hours prior to their arrival to gain entry.
