Curtains Up! SFC to Host Free Film Screening to Mark its 25th Anniversary
Film buffs are in for a cinematic feast! The Singapore Film Commission (SFC) is celebrating its 25th anniversary with the theme “Our Stories, Well-Told.”
In honour of its silver anniversary, the SFC will feature free film screenings of 25 acclaimed homegrown films and shorts by Singaporean filmmakers and budding film talents. It will be on a first-come, first-served basis at the Esplanade this August.
The 2007 iconic Getai film “881” by Royston Tan will be the opening film slated for today, Aug. 4 at 8 PM. Moviegoers will have a chance to meet face-to-face with cast members like Yeo Yann Yann and Qi Yuwu.
Other featured films include “Banting,” “Sandcastle,” “Pop Aye,” “12 Storeys,” “Ilo Ilo,” “23:59,” “Bring Back the Dead,” and more.
Since 1998, the SFC has supported more than 800 short films, scripts, and feature films, as well as local film-related events. To learn more about SFC film screenings, go here.
