1. Mexican Film Showcase
The ninth Mexican Film Showcase is here, bringing with it four films that showcase the vibrance and intensity of life, culture, and cinematography in Mexico. Presented by the Embassy of Mexico in Singapore and supported by The Project, the Mexican Film Showcase will kick off on Friday with the screening of "Museo," followed by "Before Oblivion" on Aug. 19, "Apapacho: A Caress for the Soul" on Aug. 27, and "Güeros" on Sept. 2. 2. Chicken Curry in a Loaf Class
Unleash your domestic goddess in the kitchen with this Chicken Curry in a Loaf Class offered by The Vanilla Bean! Learn how to make pillowy soft bread that will serve as a cradle to rich, nyonya chicken curry with potatoes. The course will be taught by Winnie Jau in Mandarin and will include a recipe in English and Chinese. 3. Community Voices at Peranakan Museum: Meet the Arab Peranakans
The Arab Peranakan community will be taking over the Peranakan Museum this weekend to share its culture and heritage with all. Witness firsthand various performances, cooking demonstrations, a fashion show, and community tours throughout the event, and jam to samrah music and dance. Storytelling activities will be held for kids, whereas adults can enjoy free kopi halia and check out the barter and buy market.

5. Cupcakes Class (Vegan)
Ever wanted to learn how to make plant-based desserts? This class with instructor Joyce will teach you how to make rainbow and matcha cupcakes without having to use eggs. 8. Tokyo-Style Moist Financier Workshop
These dainty financiers may look complex to make, but it isn't impossible. This class by Little Bakers Lab will teach you how to make fancy Tokyo-style financiers that are light, moist, and delicate with a crisp exterior decorated with chocolate. In the course, you will be taught how to make different flavours of financier, such as pistachio, matcha, and strawberry, as well as how to use the right tools in baking. 9. In Conversation with Laura Miotto - Designing Exhibitions
Award-winning exhibit designer and educator Laura Miotto and Asian Civilisations Museum senior curator Jackie Yoong will be discoursing about Miotto's response on the exhibit themes in "Andrew Gn: Fashioning Singapore and the World" next Tuesday. Miotto will also share her reflections on how exhibits present and communicate fashion to the public at large. Tickets are available via Peatix.
