The ninth Mexican Film Showcase is here, bringing with it four films that showcase the vibrance and intensity of life, culture, and cinematography in Mexico. Presented by the Embassy of Mexico in Singapore and supported by The Project, the Mexican Film Showcase will kick off on Friday with the screening of "Museo," followed by "Before Oblivion" on Aug. 19, "Apapacho: A Caress for the Soul" on Aug. 27, and "Güeros" on Sept. 2. 2. Chicken Curry in a Loaf Class

Gracie Abrams is Coming to Singapore in April 2025

Gracie Abrams is making her way to Singapore next year!

The “That’s So True” singer is finally bringing “The Secret of Us” tour to Asia next year with stops in seven cities including Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Tokyo. The star has announced dates and venues for each city on social media, with Live Nation Asia as the tour’s organizer.

First stop of the Asia leg begins in Singapore on Apr. 3 followed by Seoul (Apr. 6), Tokyo (Apr. 8), Shanghai (Apr. 10), Hong Kong (Apr. 14), Taipei (Apr. 17), and Bangkok (Apr. 19).

The Singapore concert will be held at The Star Theatre with a presale session set to commence on Dec.12, 2024, from 2 PM to 11:59 PM via Live Nation SG’s website. General ticket sales will begin the following day via Ticketmaster online or through their hotline (+65 800 321 1678) and are limited to six tickets per transaction.

The tour is named after her second studio album, a follow-up to her successful debut album, “Good Riddance."

“The Story of Us” features a track called “Us” with music icon Taylor Swift, and gave Gracie her second GRAMMY nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Gracie began touring in September across North America and will soon be visiting Europe, Australia, and New Zealand ahead of the Asia leg early next year.

The daughter of famed director JJ Abrams, Gracie Abrams debuted in 2019 and has become one of the most compelling voices and songwriters of her generation. The GRAMMY-nominated artist is known for her tracks “I Miss You, I’m Sorry” and “I Love You, I’m Sorry.” She released her sophomore album last June, which became her first #1 in the UK, Australia, and the Netherlands and rose to #2 on the Billboard 200. She also served as the opening act for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour Tour.

In search of an exciting holiday getaway with the whole family? Great news, because you can now get to catch Pikachu and the squad at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS)’s “Pokémon Aqua Adventure” — for a limited time only!

From today until Jan. 1, 2025, Pokémon fans and water park lovers alike will be delighted with the attraction’s Pokémon-themed activities at RWS’ Adventure Cove Waterpark.

At “Pokémon Aqua Adventure,” guests can look forward to thrilling rides and water activities, where they can get to explore the wonders of marine life.

Kids and kids-at-heart will also get to meet beloved characters from the animated series, including Pikachu, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Charmander, through a Pokémon Parade, which will be held every Saturday and Sunday from Dec. 1 to 19 and daily from Dec. 20 to 29 and Jan. 1.

There’s also a meet-and-greet session with the characters every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from Dec. 1 to 19 and daily from Dec. 20 to 29 and Jan. 1, at 11 AM and 4 PM.

For tourists, a one-day ticket for the attraction is priced at S$40 (adults) and S$32 (children from four to 12 years old). Meanwhile, Singapore residents can purchase their tickets for only S$35 (adults) and S$28 (children).

A Family Fun Combo package is also available at S$80, which comes with two one-day passes for adults and one for kids, along with two food and beverage vouchers and one retail voucher worth S$5 each.

Don’t miss this one, ballet fans! A breathtaking show awaits you this 2025, as the acclaimed State Ballet of Georgia is heading to Singapore with a staging of “Swan Lake.”

This marks the company’s first show in the Lion City in its 175 years of history.

Scheduled to run from Sept. 11 to 14, 2025, at Marina Bay Sands' Sands Theatre, the State Ballet of Georgia’s “Swan Lake” is expected to take audiences on a magical journey of love, betrayal, and redemption, accompanied by the immortal score of renowned Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

“Swan Lake” follows the tragic love story of Prince Siegfried and the Swan Queen Odette as they face the wicked sorcerer Von Rothbart.

The play will be under the artistic direction of Nina Ananiashvili, former prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. It will also feature an amazing corps de ballet of 70 dancers, lavish costumes, and detailed sets, bringing a visual spectacle to the audience.

Tickets to the show are now available via Sistic Singapore, with prices ranging from S$68 to S$198. There are also packages for groups of four, priced at S$592 (Grand Circle Box) and S$672 (VIP Box).

Based at the Opera and Ballet State Theatre in Tbilisi, Georgia, the State Ballet of Georgia is known for its talented roster of ballet dancers and exquisite productions, with shows earning rave reviews from critics.
