Chicken Run Sequel, Dawn of the Nugget, Launching on Netflix on Dec. 15

Having been 23 years since the classic stop-motion animation film “Chicken Run” debuted in 2000, its sequel, “Chicken Run 2: Dawn of the Nugget,” is finally coming to our screens, releasing on Netflix worldwide on Dec. 15.

In 2020, U.K-based Aardman Animation Studio announced it would join Netflix to revitalise the chicken story, with the animation sequel releasing in 2023.

Directed by Sam Fell, who brought ‘Flushed Away’, ‘The Tale of Despereaux’, and ‘ParaNorman’ to the silver screen, the sequel animation features actors Zachary Levi, Bella Ramsey, and Miranda Richardson.

The plot of the “Chicken Run” cinematic universe continues with the story of Ginger and Rocky Rhodes escaping from Tweedy’s farm in the 2000 film, finding solitude on a peaceful island sanctuary for the whole group of chicken friends. However, back on the mainland, chickens face a new threat, and Ginger and her team are tasked with fighting for freedom on the front line against the humans!
