McDonald's has collaborated with Krool Toys to create an exclusive video game celebrating Grimace's 52nd birthday, bringing nostalgia to fans with a 2D retro style game and Grimace-inspired merch.

The fan-favourite purple character is known for his fuzzy appearance, playful personality, and love for shakes. Hailing from the mythical Grimace Island, it is unclear what species he is, but some have speculated that he is simply a very large tastebud come to life.

To mark the occasion, McDonald's and Krool Toys have created an exclusive 2D retro-style video game, available from June 12. Players can immerse themselves in Grimace's world as he races to find his friends, such as Birdie and Hamburglar – who will join him on a quest to cut his birthday cake.

The game, reminiscent of Game Boy Colour controls, can be played on computers or mobile phones. Grimace fans can also purchase Grimace-inspired merchandise on GoldenArchesUnlimited.com starting June 12, while supplies last.

Grimace even took over McDonald's official social media accounts on June 6, generating excitement among netizens for his comeback.

In a charitable twist, fans can help drive donations to the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) by sharing their favourite birthday memories on McDonald's Instagram story from June 13-14. For every picture shared, McDonald's will donate USD$5 to RMHC, and are aiming to raise up to USD$200,000.
