TAAN’s long tradition of putting Thailand’s produce on its plates continues with their new seasonal menu, COOKSHOP. Available from March 21, the 10-course showcase will plate Thailand’s relationship with its Chinese roots and Western influences.

“Throughout the last century, Chinese cooks and kitchen hands arrived in Thailand and brought with them their culinary traditions, which were then integrated into the local food culture,” says TAAN’s head honcho chef Monthep Kamolsilp.

COOKSHOP highlights how Thai and Chinese cuisines came together, along with Western flavour, to create a food fusion unique among the region. Steamed fish in plum sauce is TAAN’s take on the Chinese dish, but is enhanced with plum reduction and smoked homemade bacon to create a complete sweet-sour-savoury journey in your mouth.

Pretend shark fin soup is another remix of a Chinese favourite. Braised pork ears replicate the texture of the original ingredient and are served in a “delicate soup” of crab, bean sprout, coriander, and pickled mushroom.

COOKSHOP is available at THB3,190++ per head. Visit TAAN’s website or call 065 328 7374 for more information.
