SLAM DUNK Pop-Up Store Open In Times Square From Now Until Mar. 31

THE FIRST SLAM DUNK Pop-up store selling store-exclusive items and merchandise will hold its doors open until Mar. 31.

Visitors can expect to be greeted with a gigantic THE FIRST SLAM DUNK movie poster, with the rest of the store adhering to a signature black and white colour scheme unique to the manga. Thematic easter eggs include basketball court lines on the wood floor across the 4000 square-feet space.

Hard-core fans will be please to know that the pop-up store also houses manuscripts and draft illustrations in display boxes for viewing. These manuscripts have never left Japan until now, debuting in Hong Kong for the first time ever.

Over a hundred authorised collectibles are available for purchase, including hot items that have been sold out in Japan. Customers can also get locally-designed and limited-time mugs, clocks, home essentials, hats, t-shirts, and shoelace locks, among other merchandise.

SLAM DUNK is a shonen manga by Takehiko Inoue, serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from 1990 to 1996. The series depicts the personal growth and healing of a cast of high school basketball players as they learn to put their egos aside and work as a team.

Having sold more than 120 million copies in Japan, SLAM DUNK has inspired numerous boys and girls to get into the sport.
