NBDB’s First-ever Philippine Book Festival to Take Place in June & August
Heads up, bookworms! If you can’t wait for the annual Manila International Book Fair this September, better prepare your wallets earlier as there’s going to be a book festival happening in June and August.
The National Book Development Board (NBDB) announced that they’ll be hosting the first-ever Philippine Book Festival on June 2 to 4 at the World Trade Center Manila and on Aug. 18 to 20 at SMX Davao.
“It's not just a book fair, it's a book experience!” the NBDB said.
Dubbed “the largest traveling book festival in the Philippines,” the fair will let visitors discover new titles, explore the world of e-books, meet and greet their favorite writers through readings and book signings, attend talks about various topics like Filipino publishing, enjoy live performances by actors and storytellers, participate in writing workshops, and engage in literary discussions and debates.
If you’re still not sure which book to buy, there will be a book nook where visitors can simply browse and read.
Entrance is free! Interested visitors can start bookmarking the Philippine Book Festival’s website and wait for it to officially launch on May 1 to register and get free tickets.
