Launch Your Wishes to the Sky at the Singapore Sky Lantern Festival 2024
If you’re planning a post-Valentine’s date because you can’t celebrate exactly on Feb. 14, hear us out. You can still make this celebration romantic with the upcoming Singapore Sky Lantern Festival 2024 at Sentosa on Feb. 21!
Now, if you’re not going on a date, you can still get the most out of this event by making yourself feel like a Disney princess! For fans of Disney movies, you probably know the iconic lantern scene in “Tangled.” With the upcoming festival, you can experience the beauty of that moment – or even remake it!
Drawing inspiration from Taiwan’s Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival, the festival is set to happen at Palawan Green on Sentosa Island. Aside from the release of lanterns, visitors can also enjoy a variety of food stalls and live music at the venue starting at 3 PM. By 7:30 PM, you can start writing your heart’s desires and launch them into the air.
If you’re wondering about the possible effects of this event on the environment, rest assured that all lanterns are biodegradable as they are made of oiled rice paper.
The lanterns are also anchored to the ground with 60-metre bamboo strings, so you can fly them for 10 minutes and pull them back down after, ensuring that they won’t end up in the ocean!
Pack your picnic mats and camping chairs and enjoy a chill day at this enchanting festival. Get your tickets here.
