Singapore’s National Day celebrations are ramping up with a packed weekend of SG60 events, immersive exhibitions, and fun-for-all-ages festivals. Whether you’re watching mermaids swim, diving into Titanic’s story, or partying in neon at a kampung-inspired pop-up, the Lion City’s got something for everyone this August.
Mermaid Tales 2025

Make a splash at Mermaid Tales Returns, running every weekend at Wild Wild Wet with special workshops at Sea-The-World from now through the end of August 2025. Dive into a magical realm of underwater fantasy with storytelling sessions, singalongs, dazzling glitter tattoos, and the show-stopping Signature Mermaid Performance by Singapore’s own Syrena. Kids can also join a Mermaid Tail Posing Workshop on Saturdays from 3 PM to 4 PM.
Admission starts at S$16 for children and S$22 for adults on off-peak days, and S$29 (child, includes a free Mermaid Mocktail) and S$39 (adult) on peak days. Workshop pass is S$50 and includes one Child Day Pass.
Roots & Resonance: An Exhibition from a Private Collection in Celebration of SG60

Celebrate heritage and creativity at Roots & Resonance: An Exhibition from a Private Collection in Celebration of SG60, running from Aug. 2-17, 2025, from 12 PM to 7 PM daily at artcommune gallery. This special showcase highlights Singapore’s artistic evolution through decades of works from a private collection. Admission is free, with public events including a Closing Party on Saturday, Aug. 16, from 2 PM to 3:30 PM.
READ30: The Presidential Pop-up Library

Explore the legacy of leadership at the Presidential Pop-up Library, running until Sept. 2, 2025, as part of the National Library Board’s READ30 festival and 30th anniversary. Held in an Istana-inspired showcase, this free exhibition features 21 curated titles by President Tharman, Dr. Tony Tan, and Madam Halimah Yacob, alongside more than 40 other books inspired by Singapore’s nine Presidents. Visitors can borrow eBooks, browse archives, and join interactive activities on-site.
Yellow Ribbon Community Arts Festival (YRCAF)

Celebrate resilience and renewal at the Yellow Ribbon Community Arts Festival (YRCAF) 2025, happening this August with the theme “We are Each Other’s Second Chances.” From Aug. 2-6, visit the static art exhibition at One Holland Village, then follow the roving art truck as it travels across Singapore, including Tanjong Pagar (Aug. 2-3), Our Tampines Hub (Aug. 9), Heartbeat@Bedok (Aug. 16-17), and Gardens by the Bay (Aug. 30-31). Featuring artworks by inmates, the festival invites the public to reflect on the power of art, empathy, and second chances.
Titanic: An Immersive Voyage

Experience the tragic beauty of a maritime legend at Titanic: An Immersive Voyage, now showing at Fever Exhibition Hall. This powerful exhibition features over 90 original artifacts, lifelike ship recreations, and a VR expedition to the Titanic’s wreck site. Smells Like Kampung Spirit

Celebrate creativity and community at Smells Like Kampung Spirit on Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, from 10 AM to 11:30 PM at 67A Kampong Bahru Road, Level 2. This one-day pop-up by Ohana spotlights young local creatives with interactive art, workshops, live poetry, nostalgic bites, and a vibrant market. Tailored for ages 18 to 34 years old, this event is free to attend and invites guests to connect with heritage through a modern, multi-sensory experience.
SG60 Celebration 'ST3PS' at Changi Airport

Celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday at the SG60 Celebration at Changi Airport on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, from 4:30 PM at ST3PS, Terminal 3. This free, family-friendly event features a live music set by Jeff Ng, photo ops with Mr Merlion, and NDP Pack giveaways filled with festive treats. National Day Parade (NDP) 2025

Celebrate Singapore’s 60th year of independence at National Day Parade (NDP) 2025, taking place on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, at the Padang and Marina Bay. Themed “Majulah Singapura,” this landmark edition will feature over 3,000 performers, floating stage acts, skydiving stunts, and a stunning fireworks finale. Admission is by ticket balloting or invitation, with highlights also broadcast live across the nation.
SG60 Special Edition: 'Past, Present, Future'

Celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday at SG60 Celebrations: Past, Present, Future on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, from 10 AM to 7 PM at the Sustainable Singapore Gallery, Marina Barrage.
