This 2022, the Year of the Tiger will formally begin on Feb. 1 as the Lunar New Year festivities kick off. In the dynamic city of Hong Kong, Chinese New Year (CNY) is considered the biggest annual celebration that officially runs for three days and may last up to two weeks (unofficially).
During the Lunar New Year, Hong Kong residents take advantage of the public holiday by taking out-of-town vacations, hosting lavish family get-together, and having a feast like there’s no tomorrow.

Fish and Seafood @ Lung King Heen
Fish symbolises abundance and good fortune, that’s why eating fish during the Chinese festival has become part of the tradition.

During New Year’s Eve, families in Hong Kong traditionally prepare round dumplings at home. Jiaozi or round dumplings represent prosperity as it resembles Chinese money while the crescent-shaped dumplings are inspired by the bright moon that symbolises a prosperous year ahead.
