Mark your calendars, bookworms and bibliophiles! One of Malaysia’s biggest book fairs, the Kuala Lumpur Art Book Fair (KLABF), is making its grand comeback this year!
Happening on Dec. 8-12 at the Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall, the five-day fair will feature more than 100 exhibitors from across the globe, including independent publishers and artists.
Some of the exhibitors gracing the event are Malaysia’s own local publisher, APOB Press, architectural media firm Draf., creative studio Fictionist Studio, and micro-press and illustration studio Inkling Press, among others.
The fair will also feature writing and research studio In Plain Words from Singapore, online media Peace Freedom from Indonesia, Hong Kong’s Po Hung Design Lab, and graphic design and illustration studio Uncurated Studio from the Philippines.
Aside from exhibitors, visitors can also expect various events, such as workshops hosted by Bang Bang Zine, Hasuriso, and Somewhere in the Kuala. There is also a two-day conference on Dec. 9-10, where attendees can learn about independent publishing, animation, design, and beyond.
There are also various book launches to be held throughout the fair. Entry to these launches is free for ticket holders.
