Japanese Dessert Chain Warabimochi Kamakura Is Coming to SG This February

New dessert alert! Popular Japanese dessert chain Warabimochi Kamakura is debuting their first outlet in Singapore this February.

Specialising in warabi mochi, a silky soft dessert made with warabiko (bracken starch) and coated in kinako (soybean) powder, the 20-year-old brand boasts over 50 outlets in Japan, mostly with long queues of patrons wanting to savour their menu.

Unlike regular mochi, warabi mochi is lighter, more jelly-like, and not as stretchy. It’s usually served with dark sugar syrup (kuromitsu) made using sugar from the Okinawa prefecture.

Aside from their signature warabi mochi, the dessert chain also serves yummy drinks. But what makes them special, you ask? The flavoured teas they serve come with chunks of warabi mochi! It’s the ideal combination of a refreshing drink with the right amount of sweetness you can enjoy.

Set to open at One Holland Village on Feb. 3, customers can enjoy a 1-for-1 Warabimochi Drinks opening special on their Asakawa-en Matcha, Coffee Milk, Tenku No Hojicha, and Strawberry Yogurt/Milk Warabimochi drinks until Feb. 5.

Get ready to line up and have a taste of Warabimochi Kamakura’s one-of-a-kind menu! Follow their Instagram and Facebook for more updates.
