Southeast Asia’s Largest Ever Art Fair is Finally Happening in Singapore in January 2023

Witness a line-up of groundbreaking art installations, engaging panel discussions, and experimental film as Southeast Asia’s largest ever art fair and Asia Pacific’s biggest art fair launch in a decade is finally happening on Jan. 12 to 15, 2023, at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre.
Announced in 2018, Art SG was supposed to debut in early November 2019, but was moved to Oct. 30, 2020, at the request of participating galleries. In May 2020, however, the COVID-19 pandemic caused the fair to be rescheduled in November 2021. Again, it was moved to January 2022, then to January 2023.
Art SG boasts an extensive list of over 150 exhibitors from all over the world, such as Singapore’s very own 39+ Art Space and New York’s Eric Firestone Gallery. The fair will be taking over two floors of the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre and divided into different sectors:
- Galleries – The main sector that will highlight presentations by leading international and regional galleries
- Focus – A contextualised sector focusing on galleries exhibiting solo or duo artist programs, or curated thematic presentations
- Futures – A sector supporting young galleries or artist-run spaces under age six, with presentations specifically created for Art SG
- Reframe – A digital technology sector introducing digital painting, animation, immersive installations, augmented or virtual reality, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs)
Other installations such as Platform, a site-specific installation for contemporary art practice and themes; Film, a showcase for new film-making practices, experimental film, and film as artistic medium; and New/Now, a salon-style exhibition that introduces emerging talents at affordable price points (US$ 10,000 and below), will also grace the venue.
Art SG will coincide with annual visual arts platform Singapore Art Week (SAW) on Jan. 6 to 15, which is jointly organised by the Singapore Tourism Board, National Arts Council, and the Singapore Economic Development Board.
First Release Tickets, where interested visitors can buy two tickets for the price of one, are now on sale for a limited time. Tickets are priced at S$30 (Adult) and S$25 (Concession) for weekdays, while tickets for weekends are at S$35 (Adult) and $30 (Concession).
