As part of its 60th-anniversary celebration, Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong is reimagining Britain’s culinary past with a four-day residency from the two-Michelin-starred restaurant, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, next month.

From Sept. 13 to 16, chef director Deiniol Pritchard will take up residency to show off Heston Blumenthal’s rich gastronomy that dates as far back as the 14th century. The specially curated fanfare is being offered as a three-course (HK$888) and a five-course (HK$1,688) lunch menu, available from Sept. 14, as well as a seven-course (HK$2,688) dinner menu from Sept. 13. Guests can also upgrade to a wine pairing experience starting at HK$968 per person.

Among the highlights of this culinary showcase are the renowned Meat Fruit (c.1500), a disguised chicken liver parfait themed after a medieval dish called Pome Dorres; Beef Royale (1821), once prepared for George IV at his Coronation; and Brown Bread Ice-cream (c.1808), a flavourful dessert that first appeared in 1718 in England.

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal is the brainchild of Michelin-star chef Heston Blumenthal OBE, dubbed one of the most progressive chefs of his time. This latest guest chef event underscores the strong partnership between the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and The Fat Duck Group, which began their alliance in 2011 to create Dinner by Heston Blumenthal in London.
