Le French May Arts Festival
Artists and art lovers, rejoice!
The annual art and culture exhibition festival will happen from May 1 to June 30, 2021. This event in Hong Kong is one of the largest celebrations in the city that has become a significant part of the local cultural scene. It unveils the beauty of performing arts through diverse activities and exhibitions ideal for all ages.
The event highlights the perfect blend of France and Hong Kong’s culture and heritage, with renowned artists and organizations expected to join the vibrant celebration. There will be over 150 programs that include contemporary arts, paintings and design, classical music, hip-hop dance, cinema, and circus.
Le French May Arts Festival aims to bring educational programs, talks, guided tours, workshops, and masterclasses dedicated to help underprivileged youth. Based on traditions, the performance venues will take place in public spaces like cultural centers, racecourse, shopping malls, and Victoria Harbor.
French Gourmay
This event is the only gastronomical festival that is widely observed in Hong Kong and Macau. The 12th edition of the French Gourmay Food and Wine Festival is organized along with the French May Arts Festival.
The main highlight of the event is the collaboration of unique Asian culinary treasures with the French region recognized by UNESCO. This year’s theme is “A Taste of Surrealism – À Table” which would take you into a food-art journey featuring the works of surrealist artists like Pablo Picasso, René Magritte, and Salvador Dalí.
HKwalls Street Art Festival
The annual street art and mural festival is coming back to paint the whole city from May 8 to 16, 2021. As part of the celebration, the first-ever thematic exhibition will kick off with a title, “Tools of the Trade.” Participants will paint the walls of Sai Kung Town with contemporary and 1960-inspired street art and graffiti. Every artist should bring their complete materials like DIY mops, markers, spray cans, stickers, and stencils as they can use any tools to create their unique artwork. This event in Hong Kong is open for the donation of exterior walls that would serve as the canvas for participating artists.
HKwalls will also host their very first Youth Mentorship Programme that would provide a platform for the youth who aspire to become one of the HKWALLS artists. Aside from that, they can also learn new ideas, skills, and techniques about painting murals.
International Arts & Collectibles Expo Hong Kong
Another art-centric event in Hong Kong will highlight a myriad of color collections and art pieces creating an aesthetic vibe. International exhibitors from Africa, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Myanmar, Nepal, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, and the U.S. will present at the expo.
Visitors can expect to see ancient and modern art collections such as coins, oil paintings, calligraphy, Chinese antiques, porcelains, and more.
Scheduled for May 21 to 23, 2021, the event will include seminars from savvy artists and collectors who will share their knowledge and experience in the art gallery industry.
Hong Kong Food Festival
Happening on December 24 to 28, the Hong Kong Food Festival is one of the events in Hong Kong you should not miss!
This is one of the much-awaited festivals for foodies who are always on the go. The five-day celebration will be serving exotic and local dishes from Australia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and a lot more. There are also food zones for seafood, vegetarian, and luxurious delicacies where visitors can choose from.
