The Henderson Skyscraper Nearing Completion for Late-2023

Zaha Hadid-Designed The Henderson Nearing Completion, Opening Late-2023

Futuristic skyscraper The Henderson, currently under construction in Admiralty, is set to be open to private business tenders and the public in late-2023. Initiatan of construction works began in September 2021 to build the “urban oasis” office tower.

Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, the office tower stands on the site of the former Murray Road Multi-story Car Park building, which boasts the record of being the most expensive land plot ever purchased. Henderson Land paid HK$23.28 billion for the plot of land for re-development.

The design of the tower is unique, referencing motifs of the Hong Kong’s national flower, the Bauhinia, and the facade reflecting light onto the green “oasis garden” below, acting as a space for cooling the public.

The 465,000-square foot commercial tower will feature a sky garden, banquet hall, courtyards, financial firms, and a wealth of commercial properties.

The Henderson is Zaha Hadid Architects’ second project in Hong Kong, after the Jockey Club Innovation Tower opened in 2014 on the Hong Kong Polytechnic University campus.
