As Thailand starts to reopen its borders to international tourists this year, there has been a boost to promote popular spots so the economy can recover as soon as possible. This is good news for those who have been waiting to visit, as the Southeast Asian nation had tight border controls for the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eating street food, getting a tan at the beach, strolling along parks, and visiting Buddhist temples — there’s a lot to do in Thailand. Of course, no itinerary would be complete without going shopping.
If you’re the type to go luxury shopping in Thailand, then you shouldn’t miss Central Village.
What’s Central Village?
Central Village is the first international outlet for luxury brands in Thailand. It was developed by Central Pattana Public Company Limited, one of the country’s leaders in retail property development and management, and a joint venture with Mitsubishi Estate. It occupies a massive area of 40,000 square feet (almost the size of a soccer field) where it offers a total of 235 local and international retail stores.
The village is easily accessible (a 10-minute ride via taxi or free shuttle bus) from Suvarnabhumi Airport so travelers who need to wait long for their departures or layovers can visit and enjoy their time before leaving.
Location: 98, 98/1 Moo 5 Bang Chalong, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakarn 10540
What’s in Central Village?
There are a total of nine “villages” in Central Village — Brick, Goldsmith, Clay, Metal, Porcelain, Royal, Textile, Weaver, and Wooden Village. Each has its own unique structure and displays, unlike shopping malls where all shops are just lined up, so they’re great for those looking for Instagram-worthy photo opportunities.
As for the local and international shops, below are some of the available brands. You can visit Central Village’s Facebook and Instagram account to know if there are deals and huge discounts available at these shops.

Mobile charging, coin lockers, and Wi-Fi are available at the VIP Lounge. There’s also a post office and a foreign currency exchange so you don’t have to fall in line at the airport.
For parents who brought their little ones, there are playgrounds located at Textile and Wooden Village. There’s also a baby changing room in each toilet area and a Mom & Baby Room at both ends of the village. Baby strollers are available upon request.
