One Bite Launch Sheung Wan Project House at 1 QRW for Communal Use

One Bite Social has launched Project House at 1QRW in Sheung Wan, a new community project to host workshops in renovated store space in a 140-year-old Chinese historic building on Queen’s Road West.

The former late 1800s food factory now exists as a refurbished tong lau building in original colonial Chinese style, housing the temporary café at Project House. Founded in 2017, Project House is committed to reinvigorating historic abandoned storefronts with new purposes of design and community action.

The community coffee shop hosts a coffee hour from 11 AM to 2 PM every weekday, joining Sheung Wan locals to enjoy cups from local coffee beans All About Beans. Everyday, the Sheungwanese Shelf is open to readers to engage in literature about design.

Among daily workshops about mental health, philosophy, and film, a month-long programme has been organised by One Bite Social from July 29 till Sept. 3. The project is also supported by charity Lion Rock Heritage Foundation.
