Where to Get the Best Cochinillo in Manila for Small Celebrations

Where to Get the Best Cochinillo in Manila for Small Celebrations header

No Filipino celebration is the same without lechon. The problem is, not all of us celebrate in big groups. A whole roasted pig may be too much (and expensive!) for a group or family of fewer than six people. So, what’s the next best option? A roasted suckling piglet or what we call a cochinillo. Here’s where you can get them in Manila!

Cochinillo and Beyond

From the makers of The Murang Seafood Platter, Cochinillo and Beyond is a farm-to-table restaurant with al fresco dining located in BF Resort, Las Piñas. It’s led by executive chef Leah who has been in the catering business for 25 years before launching her very own business.

Order their Whole Cochinillo (P12,000), Half Cochinillo (P9,000), or Quarter Cochinillo (P6,000) to start digging into this mouthwatering pork dish! You can also order their Whole Cochinillo Party Set (P14,999), Half Cochinillo Party Set (P11,000), or Quarter Cochinillo Party Set (P7,999), which comes with a whole grilled chicken, java rice, corn cobs, baby potatoes, and a bottle of homemade spiced vinegar. They’ll also provide you with a free plate that you can use to cut through your roasted suckling piglets!

Cochinillo Luisito

Cochinillo Luisito was founded in 2020 by Millennial couple and chefs Jay and Ana Maria. Despite being new, they’ve made a name for themselves in the F&B scene by offering an heirloom Negrenese recipe. Moreover, they only roast native black suckling pigs, which they raise themselves on their very own three-hectare farm in Tanauan, Batangas!

Each cochinillo order is prepared and marinated for 24 hours to let the flavors sink in. It also comes with garlic annatto rice and pickled vegetables. Pickups are available in two locations only: Quezon City or Parañaque City. Call +63939 933 8493 for orders or send them a message on Instagram or Facebook.

Mr. Cochinillo

Mr. Cochinillo takes pride in the tenderness of their suckling pigs, which are carefully selected and thoroughly cleaned and trimmed before marinating them in a special mix of olive oil, herbs, and spices. They only work with local farmers to ensure that each piglet they serve is carefully selected, from their build to their size.

Get their signature dish Cochinillo Del Cielo (P9,999) and pair it with fideuà, paella, or plain white rice for a feast good for up to 14 pax. If you need to feed a bigger group, they have Cochinillo De Leche (P13,999) which serves 16 to 20 pax. A frozen, vacuum-sealed Cochinillo De Cuatro (P2,699) is also available for those who prefer to order their ready-to-cook quarters for a family of four. You’ll need to have your own oven, though! A toaster oven with a thermostat or turbo broiler will also do.

Place your orders through their website or call +63917 577 1909 for slot availability.

Don Cochinillo

Don Cochinillo is a passion project-turned-business that offers Cuban-inspired roasted suckling pigs. Each order is prepared with a special Latin-American marinade and is dry-rubbed and roasted intensely inside a traditional Spanish-inspired brick oven. The skin is crisped to perfection so you can expect a nice sound every bite! In addition, you can pair your cochinillo with their Cuban Green Mojo to further complement and balance the flavors with fresh herbs.

For orders, call +63917 842 7390 or e-mail [email protected]. You can also contact them on Facebook and Instagram.

Secret Kitchen / Cochi Bistro

Owned by TV personality-turned-entrepreneur Marvin Agustin, Secret Kitchen boasts about serving the crunchiest and tastiest cochinillo in Manila. They have multiple branches around the metro, from Quezon City to Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig, so you can have your cochinillo fix with the whole family whenever you have something to celebrate! Choose from their Medium (P8,999) or Large (P9,999) cochinillo and who knows, he could be serving your order personally. For online orders, you can visit their website.

You can also visit Agustin’s other F&B venture called Cochi Bistro at BGC. They offer cochinillo by The Leg (P2,498), The Rib (P3,998), and The Whole (P12,498), along with soups, salads, oysters, prawns and clams, and desserts. Reserve your slot and check out their menu before visiting.
