New Titles Dropping on Netflix Philippines This August 2022

With the typhoon season hovering above us, no one can be blamed for wanting to stay home—and do nothing. While society is all about productivity, it’s nice to spend a day binge watching a Netflix show and eating junk food. Take a rest, grab your blanket and popcorn, and enjoy these new Netflix series and movies to watch on Netflix this August.


'Wedding Season'

    Stuck in a traditional family, Asha is a young woman who has no interest in getting married. She would very much rather chase professional achievements, but her parents disagree with her life choices. They decided to put her up on a dating app to look for her Indian prince charming. Enters Ravi, whose parents had the same idea. The two young adults meet and decide to fake a relationship for the summer, so their parents’ pressure becomes more bearable. But their master plan grows complicated as the pair notice how similar they actually are.

    'Lady Tamara'

    The Netflix documentary follows Tamara Isabel Falcó Preysler, a Spanish aristocrat, as she balances work, celebrity life, and her famous family. At the death of her father in 2020, she inherited the title of the 6th Marchioness of Griñón. The documentary gives the public a glimpse of her hectic rhythm of life.

    'Sandman'

    "Sandman" is fantasy drama based on a graphic novel by Neil Gaiman. It follows Morpheus, the Lord of Dreams, years after being captured and letting his realm abandoned, as he tries to redeem himself for cosmic mistakes during his life. To restore what has been broken during his absence, the Sandman must journey across different worlds and timelines, revisiting friends and foes, and meeting new entities along the way.

    'Carter'

    Two months into a devastating pandemic, a man named Carter is thrown into a mysterious room and wakes up with no memories. Completely amnesiac, he only has a foreign voice in his head to give him orders to avoid getting killed. While the CIA and North Koreans chase him down, the man has to find the little girl in possession of the only antidote and get her past the Demilitarized Zone, into North Korea.

    'Indian Matchmaking' (Season 2)

    The Mumbai-based telereality comes back for a second season of eight episodes of one hour each. Sima Taparia, a beloved matchmaker, continues to help millennials find love, while managing their needs and wants, from man-bun to vegetarian. Follow Sima as she uses her intuition and ancestral techniques to match lovers and appease their families.

    'Instant Dream Home'

      This telereality follows a team of audacious house renovators as they go around turning chosen families' houses upside down. With the help of different experts, the team makes it its mission to improve and transform homes in one day only. Hosted by Danielle Brooks, "Instant Dream Home" takes us to a ride filled with creativity, tears of joy, and excitement.

      'Locke & Key' (Season 3)

        Adapted from the eponym comic book series, "Locke & Key" is back for their last season. After fighting against Dodge, the trio is back for more adventures against a new, more dangerous enemy. Almost adult Tyler will probably forget everything about the keys, leaving Kinsey and Bode alone against the new threat. We hope this last season will bring the answers we so need.

        'Never Have I Ever' (Season 3)

          The third season of "Never Have I Ever" focuses on Devi and the life changes that go with having boyfriend. At the end of the last season, we saw her start dating Paxton, the most popular boy of her high school, just as Ben began realizing his feelings for her. The highschooler will have to learn how to be in a healthy relationship with the school hottie, while struggling with adolescent issues.

          'Look Both Ways'

            On the night she graduates, Natalie’s life gets split in half. In one life, she gets pregnant and stuck in her hometown, while in the other half, she doesn’t get pregnant and goes on to live in Los Angeles. In both scenarios, she experiences love, art, and dreams, and has to navigate life as a young woman to discover herself. Starring Lili Reinhart, "Look Both Ways" is a hopeful movie about becoming an adult.
