McDonald's Launches 'As Featured In' Meals Worldwide, Inspired by Film & TV
August 11, 2023
Bridging the world of fast food with iconic moments in cinema and television, McDonald's is all set to launch its new "As Featured In Meal."
Riding on the success of its celebrity-driven "Famous Order" platform that has spurred collaborations with Saweetie, Travis Scott, and Cardi B; this new offering is inspired by the brand's appearances in notable films and television programs.
The As Featured In meal references iconic titles such as Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Kar Wai’s "Fallen Angels," "Seinfeld," "Space Jam," "The Office (US)," "Coming to America," the RUN DMC music video for “You Be Illin’,” and even the anime series "The Devil is a Part-Timer”.

The announcement follows a teaser McDonald's shared on X, the platform previously known as Twitter. The teaser featured glimpses from various productions where McDonald's made a cameo, such as the atmospheric meeting between a hitman and Blondie in "Fallen Angels."
Foodies and fans can look forward to options like the 10-piece Chicken McNuggets®, Quarter Pounder® with Cheese, or Big Mac® Sandwich, paired with World Famous Fries® and a medium drink. In a delightful twist, the meal also features a rebranded Sweet ‘N Sour Sauce inspired by Marvel Studios' "Loki" Season 2.

And for an immersive experience, McDonald's is offering fans an exclusive augmented reality treat via a Snapchat filter activated by a QR code scanned from the Sweet N’ Sour sauce lids.
Morgan Flatley, McDonald’s Global CMO, encapsulated the essence of the initiative, stating, "It's not only our real-world fans who have their favourite orders... our cherished movie and TV characters do too."

As part of the buzz, skate brand Palace unveiled a cheeky marketing campaign on the Times Square billboard in New York, playfully hinting at an upcoming merch collaboration to match the As Featured In meals, through their signature irreverent humour.
Available worldwide starting Aug. 14, fans are in for not just a meal, but a nostalgic journey through entertainment's finest moments.
