PENSHOPPE Unveils 'Cozy Days Ahead' Campaign, Celebrating Comfort and Style

20251003 PenshoppePhoto by PENSHOPPE

After the lively success of its “Full Speed Ahead” campaign, Philippine fashion brand PENSHOPPE invites everyone to take it slow with its newest campaign, “Cozy Days Ahead.” Launching this October with special events in Cagayan de Oro (Oct. 4 to 5, 2025) and Davao (Oct. 25 to 26, 2025), this campaign celebrates the next chapter in PENSHOPPE’s journey — centered on comfort, connection, and timeless style.

Where their previous campaigns encouraged optimism (Brighter Days Ahead) and ambition (Full Speed Ahead), “Cozy Days Ahead” shifts the pace — celebrating comfort without compromise, proving that great style isn’t reserved only for the big, bold milestones, but it’s also for the slow mornings, coffee runs, weekend strolls, and laughter shared with friends.

"'Cozy Days Ahead' is about embracing a different kind of energy — the warmth that comes from slowing down and being present,” said Donnie Manaloto, Brand Communications Head of PENSHOPPE. “It’s a reminder that fashion isn’t just about making statements in the spotlight. It’s about how we feel, connect, and express ourselves every day.”

Brandon Liu, Vice President of PENSHOPPE, echoed this message, “Community has always been at the heart of what we do at PENSHOPPE. Our commitment goes beyond creating clothes — it’s about building genuine connections and nurturing a space where individuality is celebrated and everyone feels welcome. Campaigns like 'Cozy Days Ahead' reflect that sincerity and consistency, showing that fashion can be a powerful way to bring people together while remaining accessible, inclusive, and real.”

The ”Cozy Days Ahead” collection brings together soft textures, warm layers, and relaxed silhouettes, with each piece designed to transition seamlessly from laid-back indoor moments to casual outdoor adventures.

Lancôme Idôle House Offers Beauty Masterclasses and Exclusive Freebies

Lancome Idole HousePhoto by The Beat Asia

Scents are deeply intertwined with memory, often serving as invisible threads that connect us to moments, places, and people. It’s one of the reasons why many consider fragrances an essential part of their everyday ritual. More than an accessory to complete a look, perfume has the quiet power to speak for us, to create an aura that lingers, and to spark emotions in anyone close enough to catch it.

Lancôme has long understood this intimate relationship between scent and feeling. Over the years, the maison has crafted fragrances that are not just perfumes, but experiences in themselves or bottled expressions of emotion. Miracle, for example, celebrates joy and the wonder of life’s everyday surprises, while other iconic creations have embodied themes of love, sensuality, and hope. Each fragrance is meticulously composed with the finest ingredients, layered with depth and complexity so that every note reveals itself slowly, like pages of a novel unfolding a deeper story.

What makes Lancôme’s creations timeless is how they move with you, slipping into the fabric of your everyday and becoming part of your personal memory. They are designed not just to be smelled, but to be remembered, sparking moments of nostalgia, joy, and intimacy long after the first spritz.

This year, the brand has launched a bold new Eau de Parfum as part of Idôle, a fragrance line characterized by its floral scent and described as the “scent for a new generation.” The Beat Asia got to visit the Idôle House pop-up at SM Makati, where you can learn more about Lancôme’s latest collection and what makes this new fragrance an empowering experience for anyone who wears it.

Idôle Power: Smell the Scent of Success

The newest member of the Idôle line is Idôle Power Eau de Parfum, which has a fruity and woody floral scent. One whiff and it makes your eyes widen a little, causing the people around you to do a double-take. We believe this reaction perfectly captures the brand’s intention of creating a fragrance that embodies the idol” — someone with influential sway, who turns heads, and is admired and adored.

The fragrance blends a fruity pomarose, which resembles that of a candied apple, with creamy, vibrant sandalwood. At the heart of the fragrance note is the Damascena Rose, a fresh and warm bouquet that redefines the essence of the rose. Glenn Martin Dulay, one of the beauty advisors at the Idôle House, also informed us of how the roses, which are central to this fragrance line, were harvested in the South of France and were used up from the petal down to its molecular aspects, leaving no waste behind.

As it’s an Eau de Parfum (EDP), it could last up to eight hours, depending on body chemistry, and is ideal to wear for the evening — whether it’s a fun girl’s night out or a romantic rendezvous.

Leading the brand in this powerful age of Idôle is Grammy-winning artist Olivia Rodrigo, whose magnetic star power embodies the essence of Idôle Power. The Gen Z icon known for her hit songs “Driver’s License” and “Vampire” has taken the world by storm with her raw vulnerability and intense sound that is relatable as it is unique. At only 22, she has commanded world stages and has sold millions of her hit albums, all the while supporting a movement that empowers and supports young women.

Loading...

This fragrance is more than just a scent; it’s a statement. Idôle Power may seem louder and more intense compared to its sisters in the line, but we believe it provides the perfect balance, allowing Lancôme to showcase that women are not only graceful and elegant, but also bold and confident. Moreover, this scent can also be gender fluid, a quality that makes it a popular choice among the younger generation who are leaning towards unisex scents, according to Gen Z fragrance trends.

Their fragrance choices are also driven heavily by social media influence, so it’s no wonder that Olivia Rodrigo’s ambassadorship has elevated the perfume to new heights. The Idôle House pop-up also gave fans a new way to celebrate the musician with fun photo spots like Olivia’s lockers and mood board, as well as exclusive freebies. We especially love the personalized stickers and charms, which come with every purchase of the 100ml bottle (P9,150). The stickers are a nod to Olivia’s “Sour” album, which had stickers all over the cover design.

Stepping into the Rose Garden: The Idôle Perfume Line

The pop-up gave us a chance to see the rest of the perfume line, as well as the newest releases in the makeup category. Each fragrance had similar floral scents, but while some smelled sweet like candy, the others had a more citrusy scent. Allow us to break them down for you.

Leading the pack is the Idôle Eau de Parfum (P9,150), which is considered the classic product, and the most saleable in this region, according to the beauty advisors. It’s also the first perfume in the line, packaged in the world’s thinnest perfume bottle! We observed it’s shaped like an iPhone, giving classic elegance a modern touch. The light pink bottle can last up to five to six hours, and bursts with notes of citrus, rose, jasmine, and white musk, layered over a vanilla perfume base. It’s a very clean scent, so if you’re looking for a perfume you can wear every day, we highly recommend this one.

Idôle Now Eau de Parfum, Idôle L'Eau de Parfum Nectar, and Idôle Eau de Toilette | Photo by The Beat Asia

Close to it is the Idôle L'Eau de Parfum Nectar (P9,150), which has a sweeter fragrance due to the new gourmand (edible scent) that blends roses and caramel popcorn, as well as Bourbon vanilla. Talk about yum!

The Idôle Now Eau de Parfum (P9,150) has a brighter floral scent, mixed with vanilla and orchid. This scent is bolder than the previous two but not as intense as Idôle Power. The bottle is also exceptionally pretty with the fiery sunrise color, inspired by the light of a new dawn. According to the website, it’s described as “an unapologetic scent that encapsulates the strength of a generation whose time to create change is now or never. Idôles are trailblazers and together, we create a new way.”

Lastly, tea lovers will appreciate the Idôle Eau de Toilette (P8,600), a fragrance infused with green tea, roses, and bergamot. Light and uplifting, it’s a burst of freshness that keeps you feeling energized from morning to night, like bottled optimism! While it’s not an EDP, it comes close to the classic and easily earns a spot as an everyday go-to scent. Among the lineup, the Idôle Eau de Parfum and Idôle Eau de Toilette stood out as the most refreshing, making them our top picks.

Apart from the 100ml bottle, the Idôle Eau de Parfum has a 25ml (P4,600) variant and a refill bottle for only P8,150. Idôle highly reinforces its commitment to sustainability with all ingredients being sustainably sourced, and packaging crafted from recycled materials.

Additionally, Skin Idôle also launched a makeup line consisting of full coverage foundation, mascara, concealer, and eye shadow compacts. Their latest release is the Skin Idôle 3 Serum Finecover Cushion (P3,950), which has an 84% skincare-based formula. So it’s not only giving you full coverage but also a flawless complexion. The cushion is available in four shades: Fair Rose, Medium Cool, Fair Cool, and Light Cool.

Another new product is the Lip Idôle Juicy Treats Lip Oil Gloss (P2,300), which has plumping and hydrating properties, leaving your lips feeling soft and supple. The lip gloss is available in five colors, including a colorless variant.

Two Decades Proud: Yabang Pinoy’s Legacy Sparks a Filipino Renaissance

It started with a simple idea: that national pride isn’t just a slogan but also a lifestyle. Now, 20 years later, Yabang Pinoy is proving that living proudly Filipino is a movement and a revolution.

Founded in 2005 by a group of passionate young advocates, Yabang Pinoy has spent the last two decades championing Filipino identity through entrepreneurship, creativity, and community. From its iconic Global Pinoy Bazaar to youth leadership camps and cinema sessions, the organization has built platforms that celebrate Filipino excellence in every form.

This year, the movement marks its milestone anniversary with a dynamic lineup of events and collaborations. The “Filipino Brands in Focus” panel spotlights trailblazers like Ann Poco of Gouache and Ali Sangalang of Linya-Linya, two creatives who turned passion into purpose. Gouache’s artisan-crafted bags and Linya-Linya’s witty, culturally-rooted apparel are statements of pride.

In a powerful gesture of sustainability, Gouache and Yabang Pinoy are launching a special bag collection, with proceeds supporting the planting of 100,000 Bitaog trees along La Union’s Bacnotan Riverway. These native hardwoods protect against flooding and erosion, proving that Filipino pride can also be planet-friendly.

Meanwhile, Ali Sangalang’s journey from presidential speechwriter to creative entrepreneur continues to inspire. His brand Linya-Linya joins the celebration with its “Live Proud” shorts, the wearable reminders that pride in one’s roots can be both stylish and subversive.

The final quarter of 2025 is packed with events, including the 27th to 29th Global Pinoy Bazaars in Makati and Mandaluyong, and the 6th PH Cinema Sessions in Quezon City. Each gathering is a chance to shop local, support artists, and rediscover the richness of Filipino culture.

Join the movement, support homegrown talent, and make every purchase a celebration of Filipino identity. Visit Yabang Pinoy’s Instagram and Facebook to learn about their events this season, and be part of the pride, while you. Meanwhile, check out Gouache’s Instagram and Linya-Linya’s Instagram.

Manila Fashion Week Unveils Designer Lineup for 2025 Show

DesignersPhoto by The Beat Asia

Manila is set to receive a fashion upgrade as it prepares for the inaugural Manila Fashion Week (MNLFW), scheduled to take place this October.

Formerly known as BYS Fashion Week, this annual event began in 2022 as an anniversary party for the brand. Its success led to its sequels in 2023 and 2024, and this year, the team is broadening its scope to redefine what Philippine fashion truly means locally and internationally.

Last Sept. 25, The Beat Asia got to sit down at the media launch for the event, where founder John Lozano expressed his excitement for the upcoming shows and unveiled this official lineup of designers.

“What we always kept in mind while we were doing BYS Fashion Week was to push for excellence. We always wanted the shows to be as spectacular as possible because the Filipino designers deserve better. They deserve a platform where they can share their story and vision. It’s really to honor and celebrate the Filipino designers.”

This year’s MNLFW will happen on Oct. 16 to 19, 2025 at the SM Aura Premiere, with eight shows featuring an exciting lineup of designers who embody the event's purpose: to showcase the Philippines as a global destination. John’s team personally curated the lineup, consisting of a mix of returning and debuting designers on the MNLFW stage, which includes Andrea Tetangco, Viktor, Viña Romero, OXGN, Chris Nick, Iñigo, DBTK, and Randolf.

“We look for designers and brands that have a distinct point of view,” explained John when asked about the deliberation process. “Brands and designers that the moment you see a piece, you already know it’s theirs. That’s always something that I look out for. At the same time, we look for designers and brands that really have the potential to go global because, at the end of the day, we want to get designers who have that mindset of creating brands that can compete globally. Brands that think beyond just designing clothes — those who create bags, shoes, and the world around them.”

John also revealed some highlights of the event beyond the main show. For the past three years, MNLFW has taken place in various venues to allow designers to choose a location where they believe they can convey their message in the best way. This year, they’re partnering with SM Aura Premiere for two venues: the Samsung Hall and the MNLFW Tent, which will be set up at the mall’s Sky Park. This change was mainly for the guests’ convenience, considering the fluctuating weather conditions in the city.

“Rest assured that each show will still have its own design and flavor. We’re going to change the set every show,” John shared. “In between the shows, there will be a lot of things people can do. There will be lounges where food is served, photo spots, and pop-ups. It’s a full experience for the guests.”

Another exciting highlight is the first-ever MNLFW Pop-Up, which will put up the designers’ clothes for sale after every show. This completes the fashion week experience, allowing guests to not only see the clothes, but also feel them up close and buy pieces they like.

Fashion weeks all over the world have always centered on commerce. It’s really for designers to sell their clothes and show them to their clients. It’s supposed to help the designers get their business out there, and at the same time, the audience doesn’t just need to see the clothes, but they need to wear them and bring them home. That’s the essence of it all.”

Although Fashion Weeks are known to be an invite-only event, John shared that they’re opening a limited number of exclusive slots to the public for fans to witness their favorite designers and brands. You can send your applications here, which will then be screened and reviewed for approval by the MNLFW team.

Photographer ModeHunter will also be at the event to take photos for PAUSE Online, a publication that features streetwear fashion. This underscores the team’s desire to put Manila on the map as one of the global fashion capitals in the world.

“I hope this will start a revolution. We just need one foot in the door, and it’s going to start something,” John said. “I always push for embracing who we truly are, and who we truly are is a mixture of so many things. We are a global country. Instead of just looking at the past and finding the thing that’s so unique about the Philippines, let’s just embrace who we are today. That’s what we’re trying to push for Fashion Week.”

The Beat Asia Tries: Cetaphil’s Gentle Exfoliating Salicylic Acid Line

Cetaphils Gentle Exfoliating SA Line

Here’s the thing about skincare routines: exfoliation should always (or almost always) make the list. But the tricky part? Not every skin type vibes or is “hiyang” with the same ingredients. And to make things more complicated, not every exfoliant is gentle for everyday use. That’s why many of us are hesitant when it comes to adding exfoliation into our routines.

So, how can we ease that hesitation?

Enter Cetaphil, the world’s trusted name in science-based skincare. With their new Gentle Exfoliating Salicylic Acid Line, they’re inviting us to rethink what exfoliation can look like tailor-made for different skin types. Designed as a transformative yet soft solution for textured skin, this product line is sort of like a soft reset: clearing and refining the skin, without all that heavy lifting and overstripping.

After a full month of testing, The Beat Asia saw how Cetaphil’s Gentle Exfoliating Salicylic Acid Line works on oily, acne-prone skin. Here’s a closer look at the results. For full disclosure, we were incredibly hesitant to use Cetaphil products at first. Our last run with another Cetaphil range left our skin breaking out and peeling, which was far from gentle.

But this launch promised something different: gentle exfoliation that cares for any skin type.

Cetaphil’s Gentle Exfoliating Salicylic Acid Line: 2 Products for Soft, Smooth Skin

Photo from Instagram/Cetaphil Philippines

This skincare line is small but purposeful, with two products that can slip into any routine. Both are designed to support delicate skin barriers while addressing common concerns from any skin type.

The Skin Prep

The first step is a gentle cleanse, which can be done with the Cetaphil Gentle Exfoliating Salicylic Acid Cleanser. The lightweight cleanser lathers gently on the skin, and lifts away excess oil and impurities while subtly improving tone and texture — without tightness or stripping.

The Treatment

After cleansing and toning comes the Cetaphil Exfoliating Salicylic Acid Lotion. This offers hydration with added benefits: 48-hour moisture, plus relief from dryness, roughness, irritation, and weakened skin barrier.

The Ingredients that Make it All Up

Among Cetaphil’s many and already trusted launches, what sets this line apart from the rest is its Unique Triple-Acid Blend — a balanced mix of AHA, BHA, and PHA — paired with their signature hydrating trio: Niacinamide, Glycerin, and Panthenol.

The result? Gentle repairing that keeps the skin soothed and supple, and with a strengthened skin barrier.

So, what do all these ingredients do for the skin? Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA): exfoliates surface buildup, brightens tone, hydrates, and tackles signs of skin aging and hyperpigmentation.
  • Beta hydroxy acid (BHA): works deeper into the pores to clear acne, refine skin texture, and calm inflammation.
  • Polyhydroxy acid (PHA): a gentle exfoliant that removes dead skin cells without irritation.
  • Niacinamide:  boosts barrier strength, controls oil, reduces redness, and shrinks pores.
  • Glycerin: a powerful hydrator that keeps the skin plump, soothed, and balanced.
  • Panthenol: a calming hydrator that repairs and improves the skin’s barrier.

And of course, the most important ingredient of them all: Salicylic Acid. This offers numerous benefits for the skin’s overall health, especially for exfoliation, acne treatment, pore minimization, oil control, and blemish reduction.

The Test: One Whole Month to See Real Results

Over a span of one month, we put Cetaphil’s Gentle Exfoliating Salicylic Acid Line to the test — switching our trusted cleanser and moisturizer to see how these products work. With our oily skin type with slight texture and redness around the cheek area, we were most certainly keen to observe how well this line could manage all our problem areas over time.

In the beginning, there was still a bit of redness around my cheeks and a few prominent pores. Compared to our last skincare review, the sitch had already improved a little, but to be honest, we were still hesitant. Another Cetaphil range once left our skin broken out, peeling, and stinging, so we weren’t sure what to expect this time around.

But here’s what happened:

Side by side review photos
Day 7 and Day 14 Results | Photo by The Beat Asia

Our first impressions on the line? The cleanser is quite lightweight. It did sting a little on first use, but our skin felt clean after rinsing. The lotion absorbed quickly, too, leaving a soft, hydrated finish with a faint scent that we didn’t mind at all. Overall, it looked like a promising start.

By Day 14, our skin looked brighter, healthier, and more even-toned. The redness around our cheeks eased a bit, and the texture around my forehead became noticeably smooth. A subtle glow also showed up, but it was more of a healthier radiance rather than oil.

Side by Side Review Photos
Day 21 and Day 28 Results | Photo by The Beat Asia

Come Day 21,  our skin felt much calmer than it did. A few hormonal breakouts popped out here and there, but they cleared out eventually. The redness on our face also softened into something like a natural blush, and our face was more luminous, too.

By the end of the month, the changes on our skin weren’t too obvious, but they were there: smoother texture, calmer redness, and balanced oiliness (let’s be real — skin type doesn’t miraculously disappear). What stood out the most was how our skin looked skin-like: whether in the mirror or on camera, it looked the same — clearer, softer, and definitely healthier.

Final Thoughts and Verdict

Our initial fears and hesitancy in using Cetaphil’s Gentle Exfoliating Salicylic Acid Line were totally eased after using the range for one month! They really delivered on what they promised: a gentle product line that’s safe to use for everyday, with consistent and visible results without any irritation.

Both products paired well with the other products we were already using daily and looked great with and under makeup! Of course, results for other skin types may vary.

Our suggestion? Check out the ingredient lists on the other products you’re using to see if they can pair well with the ones listed above! If they do, then you’re guaranteed not to have any stinging and harsh breakouts.

Cetaphil's advertisement for the newest Gentle Exfoliating Salicylic Acid Line
Photo from Instagram/Cetaphil Philippines

Would we keep using this range? The short answer is: Yes! Both products felt incredibly soft and soothing on the skin, and with continued use, we’re sure to see our skin look healthier and more even-toned. Subtle results are already a good sign, and we’re taking it!

But for those on a budget, it may not be the best one to fit the bill; the Cleanser (236 mL) and Lotion (236 mL) are priced at P1,050 and P1,394, respectively. If you’re willing to splurge on your skin’s health, then go for it!

For those dealing with rough, textured, and sensitive skin, Cetaphil’s Gentle Exfoliating Salicylic Acid Line offers a gentle solution for every skin type that’s meant to care for it daily, gently, and effectively without compromise.

No one should have to choose between results and comfort, you know.

Amid growing concerns about skin pigmentation disorders and climate-related skin challenges, DMark Beauty, one of the country's leading providers of dermatological and aesthetic skincare solutions, has partnered with Isispharma Dermatologie to introduce science-driven, clinically proven skincare innovations to the Philippines.

A study in 2019 by the Philippine Dermatological Society found that 1.26% of over 12,000 dermatology patients seen in select Metro Manila hospitals were clinically diagnosed with melasma, an acquired hyperpigmentary disorder. This highlights the need for effective solutions for key skin concerns.

Jeanne Harn Explains Why It’s Important to Know Your Colors

Jeanne HarnPhoto by The Beat Asia

Did you know that it only takes a tenth of a second to form an impression? And here’s an interesting fun fact: 62 to 90% of someone’s initial assessment of a person, product, or environment is based on color alone.

These were the first things we learned when we sat down for a Color Analysis session with Beauty Queen-turned-professional image consultant, Jeanne Harn. During the session, she guided us through the process, explaining each step and why it’s important to know your seasons and personal palette. Understanding which colors complement your natural features can instantly elevate how you present yourself, whether in fashion, branding, or everyday life.

If you’ve been scrolling on social media, chances are you’ve already seen the reels of people facing a mirror while being draped with different fabrics in varying shades. The trend has been sneaking into our feeds for a while now, but color analysis has actually existed for decades. With fashion and personal branding taking center stage in today’s social media-driven world, people have become more conscious of how they look — and that has everything to do with color.

We sat down with Jeanne, who’s also the CEO of Imahe Academy, an agency offering Personality Development, Modeling, Pageant and Hosting Workshops, Color Analysis, and Personal Image sessions, to talk more about the power of color and how knowing one’s season and palette can completely change your overall look.

Discovering Your True Colors

According to Jeanne, Color Analysis is “a process of matching an individual’s skin tone, natural hair coloring, and eyes to achieve harmony. This helps people discover their colors and palettes, enhancing confidence, presence, and allowing them to be their most successful selves.”

At first glance, Color Analysis may seem like a simple way to know which colors best suit the tone of your skin, but after our session, we discovered that it goes much, much deeper, as it seeks to sift through variations of shades to accurately find the hue that best matches all your features.

“There’s a variation of colors,” Jeanne explained as she talked about aura coming into play whenever a client comes for a session. “Some people would have a brighter or more vivid coloring, while others look more muted. Yes, we see the warmer tone and cooler tone from their skin color, but it doesn’t mean that’s always going to be the analysis in the end.”

Jeanne is a certified image consultant and color analyst, having gained her certification from the International Image Institute in Toronto, Canada. During her training, she acquired the customized tools needed for color analysis, such as her drapes or fabric swatches, and flags, which are used to represent different seasons and color types.

“I trained under a school that specialized in image mastery, and color analysis is just a facet of a person’s image. I studied not only the science behind color but also the psychology and methodology of seasonal color theory,” she explained. “Building a strong foundation in color theory, face and body analysis, as well as practicing with real clients, are essential. Experience is the best way to gain knowledge and train as a color analyst. You train with your eyes.”

The image consultant also shared how learning never ends when it comes to her work. She’s currently taking up online courses at the Image Innovators School in Australia and received her advanced certification for image mastery. Also, Jeanne's a member of the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI), where she’s committed to leveraging herself as a professional by continuously adding to her experience and other learning requirements.

If you’ve ever wondered what happens during a color analysis, Jeanne explained that a typical session usually lasts about an hour and a half. The duration, however, can vary depending on the client. Some individuals have unique tones that fall into a neutral range, meaning they can harmonize with all four seasons. In these cases, the analyst needs to carefully compare and contrast each palette, unlike with single-toned clients (warm or cool), who only need to be matched against two seasons. Some individuals are categorized as flow, or are both warm and cool-toned.

Each season also has its specific variations, such as deep and bright winters and light and warm springs, proving that a session goes into specific hues and seasonal tones, curating the most accurate embodiment of your color personality.

When asked if lighting affects the process, Jeanne replied, “Lighting is everything. That’s why we only do sessions in natural daylight under full-spectrum lighting, which is at its height during noon time. That kind of light gives us the right color appearance of a person’s skin. In the absence of natural lighting, I’d have to use lights that mimic that, like ring lights or spotlights.”

Color Analysis may seem like it’s only geared towards people who are into fashion, but Jeanne had expressed that simply knowing your color season provides many advantages that benefit you — not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally.

Color analysis basically affirms us. Many of my clients would say they’re finally seen after a session. Some are praised more than before. I think affirmations are very powerful tools to make us more confident,” she expressed. “When your colors align with your natural beauty, you no longer have to hide it behind makeup or feel unsure about your style. It’s a powerful yet subtle shift that builds inner and outer confidence.”

Knowing your colors makes wardrobe building much easier, eliminating the stress of choosing your outfits for the day. Looking good also makes us feel good, making us feel more comfortable in our skin, thus promoting self-love and creating harmony with our physical and mental states.

It also saves you a lot more money, time, and frustration in the process, so you look younger, more radiant, and more polished without needing drastic changes,” she added.

If you’re worried about matching with a season that doesn’t bear your favorite colors, don’t be! Jeanne assured that getting a Color Analysis doesn’t mean that you can no longer wear colors outside of your season. In fact, you only need to learn how to work around them.

“I tell my clients to wear them below the waist, away from their face. Another way is to accessorize based on your tones. Knowing your tone includes determining which metals look better on you. Is it silver or gold jewelry?” She said. “If you need to wear it as a top, you can adjust with your makeup or wear colors in your sister season. For cool tones, it’s Winter and Summer, while warm tones are Spring and Autumn.”

The analyst also added that colors have relative temperatures, so choosing ones that suit your tone can also be a good strategy when it comes to wearing colors outside of your season.

As the Color Analysis trend became more popular on social media, more and more people have begun to DIY their sessions using AI like ChatGPT, wherein you can simply upload a photo of yourself and let the bot provide a full analysis, complete with your season and styling suggestions. When asked about her opinion on these AI-generated results, Jeanne pointed out that it’s only scratching the surface.

AI can be helpful for general guidance, but it lacks the nuance and depth of an in-person analysis. And that’s what you get when you do a session. When you take a photo, screens vary, and lighting also plays a big role. If you took it in bright light, chances are you’ll be tagged as a warm person. As smart as it is, trained eyes and real drapes still give the most accurate results.”

However, she also gave us some tips, should you want to assess your colors for yourself. Start by observing your face, which is the part that affects your palette the most. Look at your skin color, hair color, and eyes. It also helps to observe how your skin reacts to certain colors, and to know which makes you look more radiant.

“Cool colors are ones with bluer tones. For warm, you can never go wrong with orange,” she shared. “Every color would have a version of cool and warm, except orange. It’s the only color that will always be warm.”

It also helps to do your DIY color analysis without makeup and in a place with natural lighting for optimal results.

After explaining the process, Jeanne also debunked some color myths like how black and white aren’t actually universally flattering despite being fashion staples, since pure white can wash out warm-toned individuals while jet black can look harsh on those with softer coloring. Two people with the same skin tone can also have the same palettes, as skin tone is only a part of the equation.

She also shared that a color analysis is best paired with Imahe Academy’s Personality Style and Body Assessment services. Once you’ve discovered your colors, the next step is learning how to apply them through personal styling, understanding your body type, proportions, and how to dress in harmony with them.

The consultant gave us a peek into the process, where each person is placed on a Yin-Yang spectrum. Yin leans towards softer, more traditionally feminine features, while Yang embodies sharper, more structured characteristics. Importantly, this has nothing to do with gender. For example, a man can be classified as a “Romantic” Yin, and pull off florals and fluid fabrics, while a woman might be a “Creative” Yang, and be able to own bold patterns and daring designs.

Their full package checks everything from your height to your body type and proportions, teaching you how to style and determine the pieces that make you look taller or slimmer. Jeanne also plays the role of personal shopper for this service, holding her clients’ hands and guiding them through the process until they’re confident about their styling skills.

“With this, you’ll have more confidence in knowing that, 'Oh, this style is for me,' and you’d accept yourself and your individuality for who you are.”

You can book a Color Analysis session with Jeanne at Imahe Academy here. A Basic Package costs P10,000, while a Full Package is at P15,000, which includes Color Analysis, Wardrobe Styling, Hair Color Recommendations, and a Personalized ID app.

Girlies, Here’s the 411 on Sensitive Skin That You Haven’t Realized Yet

411 on Sensitive Skin 2

So, here’s the thing about sensitive skin: it’s not a skin type it’s a skin condition. It could manifest in redness, breakouts, or some kind of irritation and discomfort, but it’s not entirely that.

Think about it: were there any times when your face felt a little tight after cleansing? Stung when you tried a new product? Flushed out of nowhere and mistaken for “Asian flush”? Yeah, those are all subtle signs that your skin might be a tiny bit more sensitive than you thought.

Sensitive skin isn’t a disease — it simply means that your skin is a little more selective. And here’s a plot twist: Galderma says that Filipinos top the list in Southeast Asia for the highest number of sensitive skin cases.

If you’re still wondering whether you have sensitive skin or not — we've got you. By the end of this read, you’ll get the 411 on the signs, the everyday habits and triggers you might not realize, and what you can do to help your sensitive skin out.

A Sensitive Skin Checklist

To kickstart your sensitive skin care journey, here are a few common signs to watch for:

Dryness

When your skin feels rough, tight, or itchy, it’s a sign it’s losing moisture and hydration — leaving it more vulnerable to some kind of irritation.

Irritation

A tell-tale sign of sensitive skin: think redness, rashes, or inflammation. These flare-ups are your skin’s way of saying, “Hey, uh, this isn’t great for me.”

Roughness

We all naturally shed skin, but with sensitive skin, that could leave the skin with flaky, dull, and patchy textures instead of a smoother surface.

Tightness

Like dryness, tight skin can feel quite stretched or stiff — a sign that it needs moisture and relief.

Weakened Skin Barrier

Sensitive skin often comes with a more delicate moisture barrier — your skin’s natural shield. When it’s damaged, new products may cause some stinging or a burning sensation. It’s also your skin’s way of asking for help and some protection.

If you’ve checked out some or all of these signs, then you do have sensitive skin!

Triggers to Sensitive Skin

Sensitive skin can be triggered by more than just the occasional redness or dryness. From environmental stressors to everyday habits, there are a bunch of sneaky triggers just hiding in plain sight. Here are some of them:

Stress

Whether it’s work deadlines or personal pressures, stress can take quite a toll on your skin. It can make it look dull and tired, with flare-ups happening often.

Pollution

Smoke, exhaust fumes, and dust can cling to your skin, clog pores, and heighten irritations — especially if you’re living in cities and you regularly commute.

Lifestyle

Lack of sleep, poor diet, and erratic routines can throw your skin off balance, leading to a more sensitive skin barrier.

Climate Change

Humid heat, air-conditioned cold, and other sudden shifts in the weather can irritate the skin barrier, leaving it more fragile and susceptible to damage.

So, What Can You Do About Your Sensitive Skin?

The good news: sensitive skin isn’t for life! There are a multitude of skincare brands out there designed to keep our skin calm, balanced, and healthy. But when it comes to dermatologist-approved favorites, there’s one name that they’ll consistently place at the top of their lists — and for good reason.

This year, Cetaphil’s National Healthy Skin Mission (NHSM) makes its return with sensitive skin as its focus. The theme? “There's More to Your Sensitive Skin.” And there really is so much for us to unpack — from redness and irritation to rough texture and post-inflammatory pigmentation — all the sneaky ways sensitivity can show up unannounced, and how to care for it better.

At the heart of this launch is Cetaphil’s newest innovation: the Soothing & Comforting CICA Range, designed to instantly reduce redness and provide up to 24 hours of skin barrier protection.

The secret lies in Cetaphil’s Power Trio Blend, with three ingredients working together to address sensitivity at its core:

  • Centella Asiatica: a calming anti-inflammatory that supports skin healing
  • Allantoin: a gentle soothing agent that helps ease discomfort
  • Pentavitin: a deep hydrator that locks in moisture for long-term barrier support
Cetaphil also launched their newest innovation - the Soothing and Comforting line which helps instantly reduce redness and provide up to 24-hour skin barrier protection

Cetaphil’s newest range is definitely a game-changer for sensitive skin, soothing visible redness on the spot while strengthening your skin barrier to keep future flare-ups at bay.

Earlier last month, Cetaphil had also launched their Gentle Exfoliating Salicylic Acid line — a range that delivers effective exfoliation without compromise, gentle enough for daily use, even on the most sensitive skin.

Sensitive skin could be a bit daunting to care for at first, but there’s real power in learning and understanding everything — from how it works to what it needs. Whether you’re dealing with unwanted flare-ups, flakiness, or unexplainable redness, Cetaphil’s message is clear: it’s time to look beyond the surface.

The Cetaphil National Healthy Skin Mission is happening at the SM Makati Main Atrium until Aug. 31, 2025. Drop by the pop-up for an exclusive look into all of Cetaphil’s skincare ranges!
