Michelin Guide HK & Macau 2023 Ceremony Hosted on Apr. 26 at Grand Lisboa
Michelin will host the 15th edition of the prestigious Michelin Guide Ceremony in the vibrant Grand Lisboa Hotel in Macau on Apr. 26.
The ceremony will reveal the full selection of restaurants for the Michelin Guide Hong Kong and Macau, with three new Michelin Guide Awards added to the selection, including the Perrier Joüet Sommelier Award, Service Award and AIA Young Chef Award.
The Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand selection, which includes restaurants offering "good quality, good value cooking", will be launched on Apr. 12. Restaurants must offer three courses at a maximum of HK$400, or MOP400.
All restaurants in contention for awards are anonymously evaluated by a team of Michelin inspectors according to five criteria: quality of the ingredients, mastery of cooking techniques, the harmony of the flavours, expression of the chef's personality in the cuisine, and consistency, both over time and across the entire menu. The selection is not based on location, decor or available facilities.
Gwendal Poullennec, the International Director of the Michelin Guides, expressed excitement on the return to the physical ceremony format. He said the company wanted to “inspire the community with culinary excellence and up-and-coming food and beverage trends” in Hong Kong and Macau dining.
