Catch Live Jazz in These Bars in Hong Kong

The trendy bars, pubs, and clubs brimming in Hong Kong are a testament to the region's exciting and vibrant nightlife that promises unforgettable experiences to tourists and locals alike. Yet while we're huge fans of the dance floor and DJs that deliver the best beat drops, sometimes you just want to sit back and enjoy some jazz with a cold drink in hand.
Now that night scene establishments in Hong Kong are open to the vaccinated public, we recommend you check out these five live jazz bars for nights when you just feel jazzy.
Peel Fresco
Peel Fresco, which has been around since 2007, is the go-to live music bar in Hong Kong. Its warm and cosy atmosphere is no place for any airs, graces, and all that music snobbery, making it the perfect spot for a laidback night of good music and company. Peel Fresco hosts a slew of performers, from young talents to celebrated artists in Hong Kong's jazz scene like Allen Young Blood, Sybil Thomas, Eugene Pao, to Ted Lo, Teriver Cheung, Nate Wong, and more.
Silencio
Who says you have to choose between izakaya and jazz? Silencio is Hong Kong's only contemporary izakaya that features live jazz music. The sleek wood panelling, black marble, and leather details of Silencio makes it a sultry, yet chic venue for a romantic date or a night out with friends.
Silencio can accommodate groups of up to six guests to dine until 12 AM., Live jazz music is currently back for dinner and weekend brunch.
Foxglove
Foxglove in the Central and Western District is known for its mouthwatering Chinese cuisine, rare spirits, and live performances. This exclusive jazz lounge models itself after the great drinking dens of the 1950s, offering guests an ambience at once elegant and comforting. For an updated schedule of the performers for the month, head to Foxglove’s website.
Ned Kelly's Last Stand
One of Hong Kong's oldest and most beloved bars, Ned Kelly's Last Stand in Tsim Sha Tsui has somewhat achieved a legendary status for itself, thanks to its amazing live jazz house band and Australian grub! Opened in 1972 by Tom Parker and two friends, Ned Kelly's Last Stand is a reference to Australian outlaw Ned Kelly who was captured by Victorian police on June 28, 1880, following a siege at the Glenrowan Inn.
The Iron Fairies
