The wedding industry appears to be in full bloom as couples who had to postpone their “I do’s” because of the pandemic are now booking suppliers left and right. While many won’t hesitate to splurge on their Big Day, photographer Shaira Luna is living proof that we don’t have to burn a hole in our pockets to walk down the aisle and exchange vows.

Last Aug. 12, the artist married her partner Cocoy Aranas wearing a classy white dress that costs less than your latte. In an Instagram post, Shaira revealed that her vintage outfit was bought in La Union for only P100. She paired the ruffled long dress with white gloves from eBay and a half cap from thrift shop Glorious Dias. Actress Dimples Romana, Shaira’s godmother, secured the cap for her. Stylist and producer Jonard Palteng, who owns The Jones Archive, shared on Instagram that he found the cap in a vintage store in San Fernando, La Union. Meanwhile, Dimples herself wore a secondhand dress from Instagram shop Thrifted by Gray as requested by the bride.

The wedding was held at Ilustrado Restaurant Ballroom in Intramuros, Manila. Other close friends of the couple such as influencer Mimiyuuuh, and IV of Spades’ Blaster Silonga and Zild Benitez were present during the intimate reception.

Shaira is known for her cool vintage finds, earning her the moniker “Ukay Queen.” She gained popularity in mid-1990s for her TV commercial for a formula brand before establishing herself as a professional photographer in the Philippines.
