'Ukay-ukay' Stores in Metro Manila to Support This National Thrift Shop Day

You don't need a specific day to shop for thrift items, but there is a special day dedicated to supporting local thrift shops in your community. Every Aug. 17, National Thrift Shop Day is observed to “raise awareness for charitable organizations” such as consignment stores, secondhand stores, resale shops, and hospice shops, among others.”

Traditionally, people would volunteer to sort out items and donate items for sale. Buying secondhand items from local ukay-ukay merchants, on the other hand, will benefit them significantly. If you live in or near Metro Manila, here are our picks of local thrift stores that you can find online and offline.

Calle Listo Thrift Shop

If you love wearing comfortable hoodies, you might want to scan through items from Calle Listo Thrift Shop available online and at their physical store in Quezon City.

They have oversized hoodies and jackets that are ideal for keeping you warm in a chilly office or during rainy weather. Some secondhand items available in their latest collection are Zara’s Spongebob hoodie jacket, Nike’s track and field half-zipped hoodie jacket, Disney’s Mickey Mouse jacket, and The North Face’s hydro seal vintage jacket, to name a few.

The Calle Listo Thrift Shop offers shipping nationwide and same-day delivery orders every weekday from 5 PM to 9 PM and every weekend from 8 AM to 9 PM. For pick-up orders, fitting of items is not allowed.

De Vitto Thrift Shop

This local thrift shop in Metro Manila sells American brand items for kids including shorts, dresses, shirts, tops, pants, and maternity wear, among others. To manage their customers’ expectations, they categorized their products as Like New, Excellent Used Condition, Very Good Used Condition, and Good Used Condition.

If you’re lucky, you can find pre-owned items for as low as P20. You can also shop through their Shopee account.

Salome's Boutique

Salome's Boutique denim line has a great selection of thrifted-yet-fashionable jeans. For as low as P200, you can score stylish pants in baggy, wide leg, mom jeans, and tattered. These come in different colors and designs like yellow, pink, brown, character print, dark blue, off-white, and more.

To ensure the sizing for the pants, they measured each item laid flat using a tape measure with one to two centimeters fitting allowance.

This thrift shop in Metro Manila is “[t]he ECiest way to slay on a budget,” selling items for as low as P20!

You can find hip-hop tees printed with the faces of international personalities like Tupac, Nicki Minaj, American professional wrestler The Undertaker, and more. Other men’s clothing items available at this shop are running jackets, basketball jerseys (sleeveless), jersey shorts, and minimalist shirts, among others.
