Where to Drink Coffee and Do Laundry in Hong Kong

In a city like Hong Kong, conveniency and multitasking are a requirement for starting a business and getting around town. We Hong Kongers want to get our stuff done urgently!

We need to do our laundry because we sweat too much and, conversely, need a lot of caffeine to power through our busy days. Funnily enough, three local businesses in Hong Kong joined the city’s two big “musts” opening laundromats that serve coffee - or coffee shops that you can do your laundry in!

Coffee & Laundry

Coffee & Laundry markets itself as Hong Kong’s first takeaway coffee bar and 24-hour laundry service, serving residents in Sheung Wan, Central, and Tai Ping Shan. Opening in 2014, Coffee & Laundry began a self-service laundromat trend in a city that previously was not acquainted with washing clothes outside of the house.

With 10 washers and dryers, the inside of the coffee house is quaint with wood-panelled walls, shut off from the Sheung Wan clamour and bustle. The Central-local staff designed a menu with pastry offerings, artisanal moon cakes, coffee, fresh fruit smoothies, and adorable takeaway cups with hand-painted sleeves.

CLEAN

CLEAN brews coffee and washes laundry sustainably, with a mission to make it fun and affordable. The F&B guru team behind the Sheung Wan café-cum-laundromat want to start the journey of making the city sustainable with the “two essential daily habits of the modern citizen.”

Their coffee is brewed using only Rainforest Alliance Certified or Direct Trade Coffee Beans and use oat milk as their default milk option. They charge HK$2 “takeaway tax” for their 100% recyclable takeaway cups. BYOC is welcome!

Cold water washes only in store allow CLEAN to save up to 90% of energy consumption too, using natural, toxic- free detergent.

3hiba Laundry Place

3hiba Laundry Place chain services residents on the Tseung Kwan O line with 24/7 self-service laundry services in their Tseung Kwan O and Po Lam locations. In addition, 3hiba, a name inspired by the owners’ fluffy shiba inu pet, provides laundry and dry-cleaning services from 8 AM to 8:30 PM.

In both stores, 3hiba Laundry Place serves local Hong Kong coffee brand Lassana and hosts tables and chair for patrons to schmooze whilst they sit out their wash and drying cycles, which range from 30 to 90 degrees. Detergent tablets are also available for purchase in-store.
