Good news, travel junkies! The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has announced the addition of two new airlines that will be operating flights at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
The new airlines added to NAIA’s roster are Greater Bay Airlines, offering flights to and from Hong Kong, and Batik Air, which will offer flights to and from Malaysia, MIAA unveiled through a press release.
Greater Bay Airlines began opening flights yesterday, Nov. 9. The airline will offer flights five times a week between NAIA and Hong Kong. Trips can be booked here.
Meanwhile, Batik Air will officially open flights to Malaysia starting Dec. 1. Travellers can expect daily flights between Kuala Lumpur and Manila through the airline.
In the press release, MIAA’s officer-in-charge, Bryan Co, said that the addition reflects the agency’s “commitment to providing passengers with a broader range of travel options."
The statement likewise mentions that MIAA is looking forward to adding more air carriers to diversify NAIA’s roster and solidify the country’s position in terms of having the most internationally connected airports among other countries.
With the inclusion of Greater Bay Airlines and Batik Air, NAIA's number of airlines hosted totals to 48.
