Four Restaurants in Hong Kong for Your Valentine’s Day Lunch

We know it’s a little harder to feel the romantic breeze while breathing under our masks, but there’s no stopping Valentine’s Day from bringing love in the air. Yes, not even a pandemic. Some of us may have found love in the middle of a crisis, while others have started on their self-love journey. But whether you’re in a relationship or not, treating yourself (and your loved one) to a nice meal during V Day never hurts. So, if you want to impress a date, celebrate with your partner, or simply want to pamper yourself, check out these restaurants in Hong Kong for a romantic Valentine’s Day lunch.
The Verandah at The Repulse Bay
Toast to romance while admiring the scenic view of Repulse Bay at The Verandah, a colonial-style restaurant specializing in continental cuisine. For this year’s Valentine’s Day, they curated two menus in the form of a semi-buffet lunch (HK$688) or gala dinner (HK$1,888). The former includes a platter of fresh seafood wheeled to your table, lobster and wild mushroom bisque, and desserts. Appetisers and salad are available from the buffet.
The gala dinner menu also consists of mouthwatering seafood items like Boston lobster salad and Royal Cristal caviar with sea urchin and Provençale oyster velouté, but with the addition of equally luxurious tastes like Australian wagyu beef M8 striploin. To seal the deal, this menu includes Valentine’s Melting kiss, a concoction of chocolate sphere, vanilla bean ice cream, coco marshmallow, wild berries compote, and hazelnut crumbles with melting hot chocolate.
The Verandah’s Valentine’s special menus are available on Feb. 14, 2022.
Club 28
Boasting of a gorgeous view of the city’s skyline, Crowne Plaza Hong Kong Causeway Bay’s Club 28 will fuel romance with your date with their special Valentine’s Day set menus from Feb. 12-14. The four-course lunch consists of pan-fried foie gras with martini sauce, chicken and mushroom consommé, and a choice of Irish organic salmon with scallop, green pea, and asparagus puree or U.S. prime angus beef tenderloin. It comes with fondant au chocolat with vanilla ice cream and two bottles of sparkling water for HK$1,188 for two persons.
Meanwhile, their five-course dinner features an additional Canadian jumbo spot shrimp carpaccio, crab roe, and caviar for HK$2,088 per person.
TATE Dining Room
Want to express your classy taste? Bring your date (or go alone, no one’s judging), to TATE Dining Room, a two Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant specialising in French-Chinese cuisine. Their six-course lunch menus highlight the ingredients for the month curated by chef Vicky Lau. As of writing, TATE is open for dining until 6 PM only in line with the government’s COVID-19 protocols.
COBO House Hong Kong
From Feb. 13-14, COBO House will be offering a Valentine-themed version of their Chapter 8 Ocean Duet consisting of abalone, lobster, red date truffle chocolate, and honey cake.
