Back-to-school season is right around the corner, which means leaping out of bed every morning, juggling homework, and reuniting with old faces, as well as meeting new ones. But before the kids get caught up with the first-day-of-school chatter, a proper goodbye to summer is in order. Gear up for the last hurrah of the school break with these exciting kid-friendly activities to check out in Hong Kong this August 2023.
CoComelon Playground Fun

JJ and friends are taking over Tuen Mun Town Plaza with a pop-up experience that will make the little ones jump for joy. Spanning 5,000 square feet, this playground features four inflatable zones themed after the pre-school animated show favourite. Aside from the giant slides, ball pit, mazes, and obstacle courses, this playground also has a small space dedicated to child-entertainer character Blippi to join in on the fun!

Astronomy Film Show

Let the kids uncover the science that led to the creation of the world’s most powerful telescope when they see this film show for free at the Hong Kong Science Museum. It is packed with interviews with top scientists at the European Southern Observatory and features 4K high dynamic range space photography that will let the children appreciate how a technological invention that’s four billion times more sensitive than the naked eye is changing how we see the cosmos.

Kids’ Secret Service Battle at Noah’s Ark

Housing displays of one-of-a-kind, Victorian-era Bibles and life-size replicas of the Ark of Covenant, Noah’s Ark reimagines one of the Scriptures’ most iconic stories told from a perspective that children would appreciate. This August, though, the Hong Kong attraction added an interactive space where children can step into the shoes of real-life workers. From operating an excavator to manning a simulated cockpit, this activity is all about having fun while learning!

Ocean Park emoji® Summer Splash

2023 Hong Kong Youth Music Camp Concerts

Local homegrown talents will lend their voice to breathe new life into Chinese and Western classics at the 2023 Hong Kong Youth Music Camp Concerts. This recital is the product of the young musicians’ training from the annual music camp helmed by renowned artists and organised by the Music Office. It is part of the ongoing International Arts Carnival, a four-week-long lineup of artistic events spotlighting local talents in dance, music, theatre, and acrobatics.
