Phillips Opens New Asia HQ and Auction House in West Kowloon on Mar. 18

Leading auction house Phillips will open the company’s brand-new Asia headquarter in the WKCDA Tower situated in the city's West Kowloon Cultural District on Mar. 18, expanding its footing in Hong Kong and Asia region.

The six-storey headquarters spans over 52,000 square feet and will open for business with a slate of spectacular new state-of-the-art galleries and saleroom, hosting an inaugural exhibition of 20th Century & Contemporary Art, Watches and Jewellery leading up to auctions from March to May.

Moreover, the company has also announced Spring 2023 Hong Kong auction sale dates, along with early highlights from art sales and key highlights from watches and jewellery online sales.

The new headquarters, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, is situated opposite the world-class museum M+, also designed by the same architects. LAAB Architects have designed the interior space with an emphasis on openness, flexibility and innovation, featuring an auction room, exhibition galleries, offices, a café, and a VIP lounge to host events and exhibitions year-round.

The ground floor saleroom and gallery and the first-floor gallery boast transparent glass facades to showcase public participation in the art exhibition and auction experiences.

The interiors embrace subtlety, with all infrastructure concealed in the white ceilings, solid oak floorings and columns, and walls to enhance the visibility of the artwork displayed.
