Take the Plunge as PHs Largest Diving Expo Returns in August

Diving is like swimming alongside your favorite friendly sea creatures while enjoying the breathtaking views in the ocean filled with coral reefs.

Whether you are an ocean lover or someone who likes to explore water activities, you have come to the right place! The Philippine International Dive Expo (PHIDEX) will be arriving at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay this year to fascinate you with marine life through exhibitions, conferences, travel exchange, and familiarization tours.

Dubbed as the “largest platform for the diving community,” PHIDEX will be held from Aug. 19-21 by the Department of Tourism.

If you’re feeling #DiveReady, here’s a rundown of things to anticipate during the event:

‘Back into the Blue: One with the Sea’

PHIDEX’s third edition aims to promote conservation and convergence among different diving communities.

This year’s theme will showcase the country’s preparedness in welcoming international dive tourists. The expo invites local and international dive industry experts, dive tour operators, and partner dive businesses for a knowledge-sharing session.

Promote Tourism and Sustainability

Aside from exciting water activities, the expo is expected to boost the country’s travel and tourism sector through job restoration and other economic-related factors that would benefit the Philippines as one of the leading dive destinations. The DOT also encourages divers to engage and pursue sustainability practices in preserving oceans in the country.

Approximately 100 expo participants will be coming from the Philippines, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, and the United States.

Collaboration and Activities

PHIDEX will present a dive show in conjunction with Dive Travel Exchange (TRAVEX), a business-to-business (B2B) meeting program designed for local and international dive operators. The combined event will be filled with dive conferences and seminars, tours, exhibition booths, and more.

Divers and underwater professionals may discover new dive resorts and resorts developed during the pandemic and shop for top-rated dive gear and equipment.

There will also be familiarization tours among the top and emerging diving destinations across the country including Anilao, Bohol, Camiguin, Coron, Dumaguete, Malapascua, Moalboal, Puerto Galera, Southern Leyte, and Ticao Island.

The official registration opened last June 24 for both consumers and trade visitors and exhibition booth reservations. Visit the PHIDEX website to register or email the PHIDEX Organizing Committee at [email protected].
