Delish News: New Restaurants and Menus in Singapore This July 2023

In a multicultural foodie hotbed such as Singapore, you'd have a hard time finding food that doesn't succeed in hitting the spot or satisfying your wildest cravings. Food and beverage establishments run aplenty here, from fast food joints and third wave coffeeshops to heritage restaurants, trendy bars, and speakeasies, with each offering a slew of delicious dishes, curated drinks, and impeccable service.
It's no different this July, as new restaurants and bars have cropped up in Singapore and are waiting to be tried. For your next foodie jaunt, add these establishments to your must-go list!
Restaurant Fiz
Restaurant Fiz by chef and owner Hafizzul Hashim is one of the newest kids on the restaurant block – and also among the most promising. The restaurant aims to bring to the centre the chef's love for his heritage as inspired by his roots in Lumut, past and present culinary influences, and journeys and experiences the world over. Fiz offers a seasonal hybrid menu that features communal "hidang" and degustation dishes cooked over ancient charcoal. To make a reservation, go here.
Location: Restaurant Fiz, #01-01/01-02, 21 Tanjong Pagar Road
Kagayaki by Ishigaki Yoshida
Having just opened in early June, Kagayaki by Ishigaki Yoshida should be on top of your list of new restaurants to try this July. The brainchild of Junichi Yoshida of the Michelin-starred restaurant Ishigaki in Tokyo, Kagayaki is Yoshida's introduction of his teppanyaki cuisine to Singaporeans. Chef Nobuyasu Kamiko helms Kagayaki, which features “Masuda Kagayaki Beef" that's reserved exclusively for the restaurant by Masuda Farm in Gunma Prefecture. What sets Masuda Kagayaki Beef apart from other types of beef is its delicateness and translucence. This is achieved by feeding female cattle with only special boiled-pressed barley that has been steamed twice. Experience a new era of teppanyaki and make your reservation at Kagayaki here.
Location: Kagayaki by Ishigaki Yoshida, 27 Keong Saik Road
Nesuto
Nesuto, known for its delicious Japanese- and French-inspired confectioneries, will open its second location at Jewel Changi Airport in late July. Look forward to indulgent bakes that will only be sold exclusively in this location, such as the chocolate orange cake, matcha chestnut cake, whiskey chocolate cake, and pistachio and rose bon bons, among others. The exact date of Nesuto's opening at Jewel has yet to be announced, as of writing, so we urge you to keep your eyes peeled!

Cat Bite Club
Cat Bite Club just opened at the end of June and is ready to serve you your next favourite drink! The establishment is focused on featuring agave and rice cocktails, creating epic concoctions that will leave you wanting for more. Their vibrant Queens Park Swizzle, for one, is made with Mt. Gay Eclipse Aged Rum, Duppy's Spiced Rum, fresh citrus blend, mint and aromatics, and Peychaud's bitters. Its Stoic Stare cocktail, on the other hand, is a brilliant reimagination of the negroni. No reservations allowed, so make a beeline for Cat Bite Club ASAP!

Sushi Kawasemi
This new Japanese restaurant specialises in omakase, custom fish ageing, and shinkei-jime and takes pride in its commitment to quality. Japanese cuisine is known for its reverence for the freshest ingredients and Sushi Kawasemi doesn't compromise anything by only using the finest ingredients from Japan and respect for tradition. You may make a reservation and view its lunch, dinner, and sake menus here. Be apprised that Kawasemi is unable to accommodate vegetarian diets.
