Hong Kong’s Famous Little Bao Is Bouncing to Singapore on Feb. 28-29
Craving a taste of Hong Kong but can’t afford to fly out? Don’t worry, as Chef May Chow’s Little Bao is coming to Singapore at Junior The Pocket Bar on Feb. 28-29 as part of its special Asia tour.
In a special collaboration with Asia’s 50 Best Female Chef and Little Bao owner, Chef May Chow, and powerhouse bartender and Junior The Pocket Bar (Asia’s 50 Best Bar) owner, Hazel Long, a pop-up featuring Hong Kong’s iconic baos and fries, along with a curated list of drinks, is set to open for two nights only.
Locals can get a bite of the famous Fried Chicken Bao, a classic fried chicken sandwiched between buns and topped with Chiangkiang black vinegar glaze and Little Bao’s homemade Szechuan peppercorn mayo for a bit of spice.
The Stir Fried Beef Noodles Fries, inspired by the Hong Kong Cha Chaan Teng, will also be available for tasting along with Little Bao’s other food items, including Ice Cream Bao and Apiary Ice Creamery for those who are looking for something sweet.
Complementing the fun flavours, Long will be pairing the taste of Hong Kong with cocktails that highlight her artisanal craft.
Indulge in the Mushroom Peppercorn Martini, a drink that bursts with umami flavours and a kick of peppercorn to create a delightful contrast against the elegant Yuzu-focused gin base. Guests can also relish the Pineapple Soy Sauce Highball, a fusion of Southeast Asian flavours in a single sip, embodying the collaboration between Little Bao and Junior The Pocket Bar.
