Mall culture in the Philippines is no joke. Malls aren’t just places to shop; they’re where we eat, meet friends, go on dates, run errands, cool off from the heat, or simply pass the time. Most of the time, people spend their entire days there without even realizing it! And when it comes to mall hopping on a grand scale, there’s nowhere quite like Ayala Center Makati.
Home to five of Manila's biggest and most interconnected malls in Manila — Glorietta, Greenbelt, The Landmark, SM Makati, and One Ayala — this retail district can feel overwhelming, especially for first-timers. One wrong turn and you’re suddenly three malls deep, struggling to find an exit.
That’s where this guide comes in. Whether you’re here to shop, eat, explore, or make the most of your day in this massive Makati complex, this walkthrough will help you navigate Ayala Center like a pro — from understanding what each mall is known for to mastering the art of mall hopping without getting lost.
Ayala Center 101: Know Your Malls
Before you start mall-hopping, it helps to know what each mall brings to the table. Here’s a quick breakdown of Ayala Center’s five main malls, each with its own unique vibe, highlights, and must-see spots.
Glorietta

Originally built as an outdoor park in the 70s, Glorietta has since become an indoor mall complex. It has undergone several renovations and additions through the years, turning Glorietta into a lively mall that caters to a wide audience, from families and students to professionals and tourists. It’s a vibrant mix of retail shops, restaurants, recreational areas, and event spaces with five distinct sections.
Glorietta 1 and 2 are home to many popular fashion brands such as Zara, Mango, and Bershka, as well as local fashion houses like Bench, Penshoppe, and Kamiseta. Here you’ll also find various tech and hobby stores on the third level, and some quick bites on the second level, perfect for breaks in between shopping sessions. Also in Glorietta 1 is “Top of the Glo,” a rooftop garden patio where visitors can dine at various restaurants and enjoy scenic views of the Makati skyline. These sections are mostly where visitors go for some casual shopping and dining.
Glorietta 3 has more youth-oriented and trendy shops. Some of its highlights include the Muji flagship store, the Adidas Brand Center, and the largest Foot Locker outpost in the country. This section is also home to the mall’s wellness hub, where you can find spas, hair salons, barber shops, and nail studios ideal for self-care dates.
If you’re looking to hang out with friends, Glorietta 4 offers a more relaxed vibe with several lifestyle shops, bookstores, and recreation areas. Its highlights include the upscale department store, Rustans; the luxury cinemas on the fourth level, which is equipped with an A-Luxe theater and a revamped snack bar; the Timezone arcade, and the newly-renovated Food Choices — a food hall packed with various cuisines, snack stalls, and dessert places.
In between Glorietta 3 and 4 is a massive space on the ground floor, highlighted by a towering indoor LED backdrop. The Glorietta Activity Center is the venue for events, such as concerts and festivals. When no events are happening, it’s also a great hangout spot and a common meeting point for mallgoers.
Glorietta 5 is somewhat detached from the main cluster and is home to more specialty stores and a few dining options. Some prominent shops there include the two-level Uniqlo flagship store, Power Mac Center, and Onitsuka Tiger. Here you’ll also find the Manila Symphony Orchestra Music Academy, a Starbucks, and the Japanese restaurant, Ramen Kuroda.

Greenbelt

Greenbelt is known as Ayala Center’s more upscale and lifestyle-focused shopping mall. It’s a structure surrounded by landscaped gardens, combining luxury and relaxed, green spaces that make walking between stores feel like an urban escape. The mall is also connected to the Ayala Museum and the Sto. Nino de Paz Community-Greenbelt Chapel is right at the center of the park, where masses are regularly held.
Greenbelt 1 and 2 are currently undergoing major renovations and will open sometime in 2028, so most of their stores and dining spaces have been relocated.
Greenbelt 3 is home to the cinemas and a massive arcade center, Timezone, which is equipped with a bowling alley and event spaces ideal for parties and corporate events. Here you’ll also find high-end boutiques like Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Fendi, Loewe, Tiffany & Co., Jimmy Choo, and Dior, as well as other notable brands like Rimowa, Univers, and Patek Philippe.
Greenbelt 4 is an extension of Greenbelt 3’s luxury brand avenue, housing brands like Burberry, Prada, Gucci, Balenciaga, Versace, and Ferragamo, among others.
Meanwhile, Greenbelt 5 is the largest of the five sections and has a more casual vibe, featuring a mix of prominent fashion brands, casual shops, and both upscale and casual dining spots. It’s mostly known for the al fresco dining scene facing Greenbelt Park and its vibrant mix of lifestyle stores from designer houses to well-known clothing and shoe brands. Heathway Clinic is also located on the fourth level, providing multi-specialty outpatient care and other services.

The Landmark

Most wouldn’t consider The Landmark a separate mall, but more like a massive department store connecting Glorietta and Greenbelt malls.
Inside, you’ll find five levels of clothing, cosmetics, and lifestyle goods. There’s even a huge supermarket in the basement, which is known for its wide selection of everyday essentials and specialty products. It’s a good place to run errands and shop for essentials, especially if you’re looking into more budget-friendly deals.

SM Makati

Even though it’s not an Ayala Mall, SM Makati sits right at the heart of the Ayala Center complex, providing a convenient connection between Glorietta and One Ayala.
Similar to The Landmark, SM Makati is anchored by a department store and is arguably one of the easiest malls to navigate. Its layout runs in a straightforward, linear direction, with the department store organized along parallel floors, making it simple to move from one section to another.
Down in the basement, you’ll find a long stretch of supermarket aisles stocked with everything from fresh produce and vegetables to snacks and freshly baked bread. Living up to its motto, “We’ve got it all for you,” SM Makati is a reliable stop for shopping errands — whether you’re picking up clothing, home items, pet essentials, or tech gadgets.
While SM Makati delivers on necessities and everyday items, its dining spaces are limited to mostly cafes like Mary Grace, Auntie Anne’s, ZUS Coffee, and Starbucks. There’s also a mini food court on the opposite end of the supermarket, lined with casual food stalls that sell rice meals and merienda goodies, such as their signature Turon.
SM Makati also has direct connections to the Ayala MRT Station, so it's easily accessible for commuters.

One Ayala

This mall is a newer, mixed-use development right on the corner of Ayala Avenue and EDSA. It was previously occupied by the Intercontinental Manila hotel and EDSA carpark, and has since been redeveloped into a complex that combines retail, transit access, offices, and dining.
One of the highlights of One Ayala is that it’s a haven for sneaker heads. From popular sports brands to local shoe boutiques, you’ll most likely find your favorite pair here. There are also plenty of novelty stores selling handmade Filipino craft goods, hobby shops, and tech stores.
The mall also boasts a wonderful al-fresco dining area on the third level lined with local and international restaurants, as well as a huge events venue on the fifth level called SPACE at One Ayala, where concerts, corporate gatherings, and conventions often take place.
But what sets it apart from the other malls is that it’s mainly a transit hub, catering to various transportation options, including southbound buses, EDSA Bus Carousel, P2P buses, jeepneys, UV Express vans, and public utility vehicles (PUVs). It also has direct connections to the Ayala MRT station, making it easily accessible for commuters.

Key Connectors: How to Mall-Hop Like a Pro
Ayala Center may look like a cluster of separate malls, but it’s actually designed as one interconnected walkable complex. Once you discover and understand the key connectors, you can move from one mall to the next without even stepping outside (or only briefly) — proving that it’s possible to shop, eat, and explore in one seamless route.
The key to understanding Ayala Center is to think of Glorietta as the central hub with Greenbelt, The Landmark, SM Makati, and One Ayala branching out from it. It sits right at the heart of Ayala Center, and almost every mall hop starts or passes through here.
Within Glorietta, sections 1 to 4 are internally connected so you can move between them freely through corridors and escalators. In fact, it’s so seamlessly connected that it’s a challenge to know where one begins and the other ends.
Meanwhile, Glorietta 5 is detached from the main mall and can be accessed via an air-conditioned underground walkway through Glorietta 4’s basement 1 parking. Alternatively, you can step outside for a short walk, following pedestrian crossings from Glorietta 4 to Rustans and then to Glorietta 5.
- Glorietta 4 landmark: Bread Talk and Krispy Kreme.
- Glorietta 5 landmark: Onitsuka Tiger and Starfinder Optical.
Just remember, if you ever get lost, finding your way back to Glorietta usually puts you back on track.

Glorietta to SM Makati
SM Makati sits between Glorietta and One Ayala, so it’s one of the easiest mall hops.
There’s an indoor bridge on the second level, connecting Glorietta 4 to SM Makati. The escalators sit between Daiso and Toys “R” Us. Along that route, you’ll also find two bookstores: National Book Store and Fully Booked x Kinokuniya.
Alternatively, you can also cross via the outdoor pedestrian on the ground level.
- Glorietta 4 landmark (ground floor): CHAGEE
SM Makati to One Ayala
SM Makati has a direct link to One Ayala, making it easy for shoppers to reach the transit hub. The link is located on the SM store’s levels 3 and 4, which connects to One Ayala’s levels 2 and 3.
There is also an exit that leads to the MRT Station on the third level.
- SM-Link to One Ayala landmark: Mister Donut, Dal Moro’s Fresh Pasta to Go

Glorietta to The Landmark Makati
The Landmark itself acts as a major bridge mall between Glorietta and Greenbelt. You can enter it from the second level of Glorietta 2.
- Glorietta to The Landmark landmark (2nd level): Jade Garden, Sketchers
The Landmark to Greenbelt
Upon entering Landmark from Glorietta on the second level, just go straight until you reach the exit that leads to an elevated walkway that crosses Makati Ave. You’ll arrive shortly at Greenbelt 4.
To go to Greenbelt 3 (Cinemas, Timezone, dining), turn left. On the other hand, turning right will lead you to Greenbelt 5 (Shops and dining).
- Greenbelt 4 landmark: H&M
- Greenbelt 3 landmark: Muji, Urban Revivo (ground level: Hermes)
- Greenbelt 5 landmark: Tsokolateria, Krispy Kreme stall (ground level: Lusso by Margarita Forés)

Some Tips:
- Use Glorietta and Landmark as your mental anchors when mall-hopping.
- Follow the signs. When in doubt, look up. There’s usually a sign that will lead you to where you need to go, and Ayala Center’s signages are abundant, color-coded, and can be found at every exit or mall section.
- If you enter the wrong corridor, don’t panic. Most of them will eventually connect to the main mall. In Glorietta, for example, all corridors will lead to the Activity Center, which is where Glorietta 3 and 4 meet.
- Take note of concierges. If you ever get lost, simply find a concierge desk and ask for directions.
