It's the “ber” season again! This means the Christmas countdown has officially started in the Philippines.
As early as September, Filipinos begin putting up their Christmas trees and decorating their houses and shops with vibrant parols (lanterns) to get into the holiday spirit. Dubbed as the country that celebrates the longest Christmas, the Philippines has a long list of recommended places to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.
From dazzling light installations to lantern festivals, here’s a list of new festive attractions that you and your family should visit during the Yuletide season.
Wonderland Plaza in Tarlac City
Visit the Wonderland Plaza in Tarlac City with the whole family for a Christmas adventure that will take you through a kaleidoscope of colors. It offers a variety of attractions where visitors of all ages can enjoy, including the Superheroes Corner filled with your favorite characters from Marvel Heroes, Justice League, and Alice in Wonderland, among others.
You can also take Instagram-worthy photos along the Fantasy Tunnel and Magical Rabbit Hole brimming with light installations of glowing butterflies, flowers, rabbits, and more. Other attractions include Minecraft Street, BT21 House, and the children’s playground.
The Wonderland Plaza is open to the public for free every Tuesday to Sunday from 5 PM to 9 PM. You can find this Christmas attraction in front of San Sebastion Church and Tarlac City Municipal Hall.

Noel Bazaar
One of the most popular holiday bazaars in the country is back after more than two years of pandemic hiatus – Noel Bazaar. Invite your favorite shopping buddy and create new shopping memories, featuring a curated selection of quality brands. This includes Fitlab, Technopop, Famouz apparel, and more.
Other giftable items you can score at Noel Bazaar are scented candles, BT21 pillows, and skincare products, to name a few. Famous local celebrities like Carla Abellana, Benjamin Alves, Sanya Lopez, Rita Daniela, and Rocco Nacino have donated their pre-loved items for sale at the GMA Celebrity Ukay-Ukay booth.

MOA Holiday Fireworks
Who else missed the mesmerizing fireworks display at the Mall of Asia (MOA)? This Christmas season, the MOA Holiday Fireworks has finally made its long-awaited comeback as one of the most anticipated holiday activities in the shopping mall.
The fireworks display shows are scheduled every Friday from Sept. 16 to Nov. 11. Mallgoers will have the chance to witness the pyrotechnics every Friday and Saturday beginning on Nov. 18 to Dec. 30 at 7 PM.

FarmPlate in Albay
Whether you live in or are just visiting the area, you are sure to feel the spirit of Christmas at this iconic red barn house at Gabawan in Daraga, Albay.
Brimming with holiday decorations and lights, FarmPlate boasts of its eye-catching pine tree adorned with Christmas lights and floating sky lanterns. The floating sky lanterns are fixed in position and are not flammable, but visitors are discouraged from reaching out or touching them.
FarmPlate also features a Santa House where kids and kids-at-heart can snap photos with Santa who is present every Friday night.
Diners can enjoy listening to music while hanging out with friends and family at the restaurant during saxophone night hosted every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, and acoustic night every Thursday. The FarmPlate is open from 8 AM to 9 PM every Monday to Thursday and 8 AM to 10 PM every Friday to Sunday.
This Christmas attraction in Albay grants its visitors complete access to a farm, which includes a carabao cart ride (one round only), the use of picnic mats and playground equipment, access to a bonfire (from 6 PM to 7 PM only), use of restrooms, kite flying, and a spacious parking area. All of which are free!

Giant Lantern Festival
The Giant Lantern Festival, which takes place in San Fernando City, Pampanga — also known as the Christmas Capital of the Philippines — is widely regarded as the most impressive and dazzling Christmas celebration in the country.
This event has become one of the most anticipated Christmas attractions in the country, featuring exhibitions of giant lanterns that interplay with lights and music. This year, there are 10 participating barangays that will compete for the 2022 Giant Lantern Festival to make the most unique and massive parol. The event will take place at Robinsons Starmills Pampanga on Dec. 17. The exhibition will run from Dec.18 to Jan. 1, 2023.
