Eight Instagram Spots for Snapping Great Photos in Hong Kong
August 13, 2023
Hong Kong is a pretty city; you cannot deny that. With its concrete jungle filled with energy matching the serene greenery to the north and islands, it’s a city that’s begging to be captured and photographed.
As popular as Instagram tourism has been in the city and region, tourists and locals are heading around Hong Kong to upload the best shots that’ll make their friends jealous. In this article, we tell you the eight best Instagram spots in Hong Kong to spruce up your feed with great snaps.
Sai Wan Swimming Shed

The Sai Wan Swimming Shed has become an Insta-famous photography spot, compared to recent years, affording a great spot to take photos of yourself with a scenic island view on the makeshift pier. The shed is accessible by Kennedy Town MTR and jumping on the 58 green minibus to the Island West Transfer Station on Victoria Road.
Where: Sai Wan Swimming Shef, Mount Davis, Victoria Road, Pokfulam, Hong Kong
Nan Lian Garden

Located in Diamond Hill, the Chinese classic garden of Nan Lian is a pristine spot surrounded by the concrete jungle of deep Kowloon to snap serene scenes with the background of Tang Dynasty style prayer buildings and garden features.
Where: Nan Lian Garden, 60 Fung Tak Road, Diamond Hill, Wong Tai Sin, Kowloon
Victoria Peak’s Lion’s Pavilion

Ubiquitous with our beautiful urban city are the views from Victoria Peak, the towering mountain on Hong Kong Island, which offers world-class views of Mid Levels and Kowloon. The age-old Lion’s Pavilion located a step away from The Peak Tower is a pristine spot to snap pictures for Instagram against the backdrop of the city below.
Where: Victoria Peak’s Lion’s Pavilion, Findlay Road, The Peak, Hong Kong
Red Incense Burner Summit

This is Hong Kong’s top hike for incredible views of both Hong Kong Island and Kowloon’s skylines, and the perfect spot to snap sunset pictures for the “gram.” To hike to Red Incense Burner Summit, trail up on a 15-minute walk from Braemar Hill Bus Terminus located at the foot of the mountain.
Where: Red Incense Burner Summit, North Point, Hong Kong
Lok Wah South Estate

Lok Wah’s Carpark Roof has become a hit for Instagrammers seeking a unique spot for symmetry and popping colour, much to the chagrin of the private residents of the Ngau Tok estate. As pretty as your shots may be for Instagram, please come and go quietly to this spot.
Where: Lok Wah South Estate, 70 Chun Wah Road, Ngau Tok, Kowloon
Choi Hung Estate

What would Hong Kong Instagram be without the multicoloured Choi Hung Estate located in deep Kowloon? It’s a must for snapping photos in Hong Kong! My tip is to head there on a sunny day for the rainbow colours of Choi Hung Estate to pop on your Instagram photos, or simply adjust the contrast and brightness on Instagram.
Where: Choi Hung Estate Rooftop Basketball Court, 2 Tse Wai Avenue, Ngau Chi Wan, Kowloon
West Kowloon Art Park

A spot that has nurtured an identity for its unreal views of opposite Hong Kong Island and its waters, and Lantau Island to the west, West Kowloon Art Park should be on your list for your Instagram photo trip to Hong Kong.
Where: West Kowloon Art Park, West Kowloon Cultural District, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon
Avenue of Stars

We cannot forget to include the Avenue of Stars in our list of the best spots, arguably one of the top locations to snap pictures for Instagram with the background of Hong Kong Island’s starry and sparkly skyline at night. It surely ranks as one of the best skylines in the world.
