A happy July 14 to everyone celebrating Bastille Day! Also known as ‘Fête nationale française’, Bastille Day is celebrated every year in all corners of the globe in big party bashes – coupled with good food, better company, and enough wine to drown in.
With an estimated number of 25,000 French nationals living and working in Hong Kong, the dining scene on this special day is rife with deals and exclusive menus to honour the key turning points in history that shaped present-day France as we know it.
From wild disco brunches to homemade traditional French dinners, here are our recommendations on where to wine and dine on Bastille Day in Hong Kong.
Bastille Day Dinner at District 8

The lively Paris bistro District 8 offers a four-course wine menu in their Parisian-style steakhouse brasserie, pairing exclusive menu items with some of their finest wines.
Menu items include the Salmon Gravlax, made with a fried brioche topped with salmon caviar and lemon curd, and the Australian Black Winter Truffle, paired with the 2004 Chateau Richelieu Fronsac.
Optional add-ons such as the Seasonal Cheese Plate, will cost you an additional HK$190, with a digestif to match.

Centric Bastille Dinner at Porkcentric

Showcasing the diverse flavours of central Europe with their nose-to-tail concept, Porkcentric invites you to celebrate and indulge in fine French dining with all your friends and family in tow. Pay homage to the expert culinary techniques of France, and experience the culinary wonders of pork!
Menu items to look forward to include Charcoal Baked Salmon, Beef Au Poivre, and a sweet finish of Crème Brulee. Each dish is (of course,) paired with a fine wine selected by the culinary team at Porkcentric.

Le Disco Brunch and Unlimited Drinks At La Vache!

Get boozy and groovy at La Vache! and indulge in their Hong Kong-famous steak frites with you’re at it. Live DJ sets play banging tunes while you enjoy their one-menu favourites, and you can top up your glasses with their unlimited drinks.
Held in two sessions in the afternoon, get started on your festivities before everyone else - Vive La France!

‘Le Bal du 14 Juillet’ DJ Night at Pastis

There’s no requirement to go all out when celebrating French National Day, sometimes simple is just better. At Pastis Bistro, Hong Kongers can get a taste of casual French culture, food, and atmosphere, without breaking the bank.
